Illusion Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,
I saw a picture of a quilt similar to this on the internet but it wasn't quite what I wanted so I created exactly what I wanted in EQ8 and stitched it up. I am quite happy with the way it has turned out. Quilted on my Q'nique 15. |
Neat quilt and design!

This is an astonishing quilt to me. I've never really found a place in my heart for quilts that use only solids (or read-like-solids) because I always thought they would become boring after a while (a little judgemental, I know). What you have managed to create, however, is a work of art that capitalizes on the strength of solids. So innovative and so beautifully pieced and quilted - I know I would never tire of this! Once again, my eyes have been opened by this forum. Thanks so much for sharing. :-)

Very nice design and the quilting is perfect. Great job!!

Gorgeous quilt, and I am amazed by all those perfect points! (Isn't EQ8 great?)
Super quilt - and the reverse is interesting too!
Beautiful quilt! Nice to have a program you can work with. I don’t understand enough about computers so I have to work it out in my head-lol-Love the quilting!!!
Wonderful quilt
Absolutely beautiful! you did a great job with designing and making
Caroline, that is gorgeous!!!!!!!! I've missed your posts. :)
What an appealing quilt! Your color choices are a nice balance and well, the quilting is perfect but it is one of my favorites so I am a bit partial. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png

Really great 3D effect! Nice.
Great quilt, you should be happy with that!
Very striking! And in my favorite color!
A very bright and pretty quilt!
You did a marvelous job creating this! Perfect use of color!
Caroline, your quilt is beautiful. Great job. I bought EQ (some number) several years ago but have never used it. Been retired for 7 yrs. now and I guess it is past time to look into it. I learn better in class rather than on my own. I
l have to talk to the guild members to see if anyone is interested in teaching/learning the program. The guild is very small but someone in it must know how to use it. |

That looks great, did you use a pantograph for your quilting?
Great job designing And putting this one together! The quilting adds a nice contrast to the angular pattern in the top-well done.

This is one of the nicest things anybody has said about a quilt of mine. I am so happy that it has made you look at solids /solid like fabrics in a new way. The fabric I used was Linen Texture in dark blue, a lighter blue and a very pale grey! Thank you for your lovely words. Hugs Caroline |
WOW! I really like this. You did a fabulous job - colors, quilting, everything!!!
Bravo! DonnaMc |
Really LIKE that, great colors for this pattern and your quilting is outstanding.

Striking! You did a great quilting job.

I am impressed! What an amazing use of solid fabrics. Love the colors. The back is also so interesting. Congratulations!
That is very impressive! It definitely gives the illusion of 3-D.
Great quilt! Love your color choices and quilting too.
That's fun! I love it! (I think I have something similar pinned on pinterest!)
I love this quilt.
I'm working on this quilt! I hope mine turns out as nice as yours.
May I ask how you pressed your seams? I'm struggling with trying to minimize bulky seams. |
Beautifully made!
Illusion quilts have been on my want-to list for a long time now. I'm impressed that you drew it up in EQ, too. Great quilt!
That is amazing, love the colors that you chose.
You really are creative and you quilt is beautiful. I have EQ7 but I haven't designed a quilt yet. I use it mainly to figure up the yardage for blocks I put together.
Love your design, it looks so complicated
