Uffdah! finally, my Jacob's Ladder is finished. I love this particular variation because of the floating windmills. I also used ALL stash for this one. Not a FQ needed to be bought.
The binding turned out GREAT - I used parts of Sharon Schamber's method - except for the glue, and those corners are the perfect miter. Just wish I had the guts to move up from stitch-in-the-ditch quilting. Jacob's Ladder closeup. It's beautiful! Everything looks so great! I love the floating windmills, fantastic job!

Here is what currently hangs on my banister waiting to be finished.
BTW: the pink square in a square is the result of testing the pattern for whoever was doing the snail trail. It still needs a border which I haven't decided yet. The ones with the yellow strip started from a 5" charm pack that was gifted to me. I LOVE THAT PATTERN. It will be quilted with a swirly pattern. (I promised myself to branch out) Oh, and the roll on the side is a pinned and ready-to-quilt Bodacious pattern with black and white music fabric. Temporary quilt rack |

Wonderful Jacobs Ladder, it is just absolutely beautiful. I personally would like to do a desent stitch in the ditch. I have a hard time keeping it there all the time.
|
Thanks for the nice nods, everyone. I am pleased to announce that the Birthday Girl was very happy with her gift. I made it with her blue rocking chair in mind. (The quilt reads black and white but it is actually dark blue, white and burgundy) When she opened the package, she and her daughters immediately allocated a space in the living room. (That's not where the rocking chair lives - lol)

I had to adjust the math because my center squares were a different size. Thanks for all the kudos. I hope my head won't swell too much. |

OK, the pattern is in the March 2009 "The Quilter" called Orchid Vines. http://www.thequiltermag.com/issues/2009/march.shtml |
Thanx for looking up the Orchard Vines pattern. I think it would be easy to make my own pattern. I really liked it and would be so good for scraps. Thanx barnbum for looking up another photo.
