The joy of Acknowledgement!
1 Attachment(s)
Several weeks ago, I posted a photo of a quilt that I had made for the DD of very dear friends. We attended the wedding last Sunday. On Wednesday, I received an email from the bride's father about the gift--his astonishment that I would have taken the time and effort for his daughter. On Thursday, I received a phone call from the Bride. She could not wait to send a thank you note. She and her husband had slept under the quilt the night they opened the gift and loved it! I think I done good!
BTW it turns out that they both love rainbows!! Serendipity!! |
Beautiful quilt and wonderful manners!
|
Oh yes, the joys of knowing your gift is appreciated!! Love it!
|
That's wonderful, particularly in this day and age when thank you notes and phone calls are nearly extinct.
|
Beautiful story...and beautiful quilt.
|
That is terrific!! I love it when people appreciate what you have done. And I want to add that I think it's gorgeous too. I made two little wall hangings a couple of years ago, for two babies born in our church membership. I got notes from both sets of parents. It felt good.

Looks like stained glass! So glad the couple really appreciates the special gift.
|
Love the quilt and love that it was appreciated!
|
It's a beautiful quilt! So glad some people still have manners. You did a great job on it.
|
I'm so glad your thoughtfulness and hard work were appreciated. The quilt is beautiful, fun and happy!

It's so good to know that young people today, still have great manners. That quilt is wonderful!

Ladysuds, I guess you could say it is a variation of Yellow Brick Road. It is 7x2 inch pieces separated by 1 inch black sashing and then 1/4 inch (or so, I think it ended up being more like 3/8") black sashing between rows. In this case it was all about colour placement. I had 5 shades of 6 colours--30 different fabrics. Keeping it all straight was a bit challenging at times!

Beautiful quit and beautiful manners. So glad they saw all your hard work and appreciated it. BrendaK

This is indeed a very considerate couple. I have given quilts as gifts and never had them acknowledged. And so that is their last quilt from me.
|
Wonderful quilt - wonderful manners - thank you for sharing your story! Don't want to hijack your post - but I had a horrible experience and wish that it would have had a happy ending like yours.

This is such a beautiful quilt and I am so happy for you that they acknowlegd the quilt. I looked at the Yellow Brick Road quilt and can't see your interpretation of that in this quilt, but will keep looking to find a different variation because I really like this pattern. And good for you for keeping all those fabrics in the right order. Your quilt is beautiful.

It's fun to be appreciated!!! That's the best part of giving a quilt away. Good job on the quilt. It's beautiful!!!

It is a stunning quilt....and your story has me smiling - because it does feel so nice to have your work appreciated. Think we've all been on the other end of that at least once. And you obviously have very nice friends - which is a gift as well.

Very nice quilt with beautiful bright colors. Very nice of the ones sending you a thank card. There still are those kind of people in the world.
