I'm pleased with it. I knew it needed mitered borders, so I learned how and did it for the first time! I'm happy with those, too. :D :D :D
I used the tree fabric for the whole thing since that is what we see--and this fabric looks exactly like a photo I took while kayaking. [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2463.jpg[/img] The story is...this corner is the launch area--shallow so lighter water. [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2460.jpg[/img] The middle is where the kayaker looks down through the clear water to see the green vegetation on the bottom. [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2461.jpg[/img] [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2459.jpg[/img] This part is where the kayaker looks up and sees the blue of the sky reflecting on the water. [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2462.jpg[/img] First ever mitered corners; I'm so proud. :wink: [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...m/IMG_2458.jpg[/img] My quilting time has been drastically interrupted with my JOB. :? So, it's mostly happening on weekends. Because of this, I need to cut up flannel squares for Christmas gifts next, and work on student bookmarks. But I'd rather finish that Triple Irish Chain I started. :roll: |

ANYWAY--Rachel said she loves this top, but wouldn't want the quilt at college on the back of her couch--afraid something would happen to it, but she really loves it. So, I told her I'd get it quilted and save it for when she's ready. She's been kayaking with us, so understands the quilt's story. :D That was a long answer to a simple question. :roll: |

Your top is just beautiful...you must be so very pleased that it has come together as you envisioned....I recall your working pictures as you auditioned your fabrics and colour placement. It is a wonderful realisation of your kayaking on your beautiful lakes and will give memories of a wonderful time with your family :lol:
