Labyrinth quilt-not perfect, but finished!

1 Attachment(s)
This quilt has taken a little over a year to finish. The pattern is "The Labyrinth of St. Omar" by Wendy Wetzel. When I was almost done quilting it, I discovered that I had made a mistake in the layout. After a most unladylike outburst, I decided that finished was better than perfect. This was made because I loved the pattern so much. The Gelato ombre fabrics were fabulous to work with too! Making this quilt was a challenge, as precise piecing is not my forte. It certainly made me think about the process of piecing and that it can be quite calming to do a little bit at a time. That being said, it's time to go back to my art quilts!

It's not a mistake. It's a design choice. Because you "designed" it this way, it's 100% original!

Beautiful quilt , colors and piecing. DO NOT TELL ANYONE THERE IS A MISTAKE! We tend to do that and the average person will never notice it or else they will think that's in the design. Great job!

lyndaj 01-28-2016 05:56 AM

I love the center Glow! It turned out great, and perfection is only something we can strive to come close to-- none of us are perfect, or make perfect quilts. Don't point out, or even think about the error-- no one will notice unless you bring it to their attention. :)

Daylesewblessed 01-28-2016 04:31 PM

Fantastic quilt! Working with that fabric must have taken a lot of planning!

kaylfordsollimo 01-29-2016 03:58 AM

That is FABULOUS!!! I love it. I think I need to add that pattern to my bucket list, but I doubt I could manage the colors as well as you did.

coopah 01-29-2016 05:22 AM

That's beautiful! Love the way the colors shade/morph from the center out. Lots of skill in that quilt.

NatalieF 01-29-2016 06:10 AM

That looks simply amazing! What a wonderful job you did. The level of skill to do this boggles my mind, so I'll simply look and drool. (we really need a drooling smiley)

Bren 01-29-2016 06:18 AM

Beautiful! It looks like the sunset in the middle.

JoyjoyMarie 01-29-2016 06:54 AM

I am in love with your quilt - thank you for telling us the pattern origin - I may have to tackle one of these before I die.
