It's today and tomorrow. It's so beautiful there--quilts and vendors everywhere. Lunch was $6 and included chicken salad, a roll, fruit cup, dessert, drink. I bought 10 yards of batiks for $6 a yard! I made some friends at lunch-and met peaceandjoy, too! She took my picture next to one of my quilts--well actually that one is gaigai's. I wanted to take her photos, but she wouldn't let me. :|

I have a LOT of pictures to post, so you might want to wait until I'm done or you'll miss one.

So many gorgeous quilts!!! I am in awe....

barnbum 04-23-2010 11:51 AM

Not bad for the boonies!! This is the school my kids and I graduated from. It's called the school in a cornfield--and that's not exaggerating.

Grinster 04-23-2010 11:59 AM

Wow! Wish I lived closer, wonderful stuff. Thanks for sharing. I get motivated when I see the pictures!

pollyjvan9 04-23-2010 12:46 PM

Thanks for taking us to the show with you! Loved all the pics but what I would really like to know is how did you get so many pics on one document? I can't seem to get more than 4 or 5 before I get a message "access denied" and have to start over. I am going to take time later to look closely at each quilt. Thanks again.

sweet 04-23-2010 12:52 PM

That was fun!

Marjpf 04-23-2010 01:50 PM

Thank you so much for posting all of these. They are wonderful. Glad I'm not a judge - I'd give them all a first place!

Polly--you have 20 minutes to work on adding photos--then time is up and you get that 'access denied' message. I worked fast.

diannemc 04-23-2010 02:11 PM

WOW!!!!!!!!!

Rhonda 04-23-2010 02:17 PM

quiltsRfun 04-23-2010 02:23 PM

Thanks for posting. Looks like a fun show. All the quilts are beautiful, so many differenty styles.

jljack 04-23-2010 02:58 PM

Lovely quilts!!! I saw several I thought looked familiar....either the actual quilt or patterns from magazines. I loved the color choices! Some so daring!! Thanks for the photos...if only we could all travel the country to all the shows...wouldn't that just be paradise???? LOL

Tink's Mom 04-23-2010 03:06 PM

Thanks for posting all the lovely quilts, Karla...I may be biased, but I like yours and Gai's the best....

Shemjo 04-23-2010 03:14 PM

Very nice. Thank you for sharing. I was in Paducah yesterday for AQS, and I saw any beautiful quilts, but I love smaller hometown shows for their variety and lovliness. I am also intrigued by they way they are hung! You had lots of good lookin' quilts there! Congratulations!

Gal 04-23-2010 03:14 PM

OMG, so many excellent quilts! I have had to go make a coffee and come back to study them! Thankyou so much for posting, I would never get to see so many wonderful quilts otherwise. I liked them all, too difficult to pic a best one, I am in awe!!!!

Gal

Aww--thanks. peaceandjoy said the floral log cabin looks so much better in person. I have to agree. It's always hard to capture the exact color of some with a camera.

Tomorrow I'll get the judge's comments and find out which ones won Viewer's Choice. Although--if I only go at 5 to pick up my quilts--I wonder how I'll find out? I want to be able to picture it.

littlehud 04-23-2010 06:02 PM

Wow, those are all so pretty. I am in awe. Thanks for sharing.

coastienest 04-23-2010 06:46 PM

kay carlson 04-23-2010 07:19 PM

I truly enjoyed the show and your comments. Thanks for posting these wonderful photos.....

sewnsewer2 04-23-2010 07:29 PM

What pretty quilts! Thank you for showing them.

MegsAnn 04-23-2010 08:35 PM

Thanks so much for sharing! Lovely

Katia 04-23-2010 09:45 PM

I love love love the one that is about a two thirds of the way down, with the cabin and the deer and the bald eagle. all done in batiks, I think. Has anyone seen the pattern for that, or is it an original? It is so beautiful and would be perfect in my guest room.

I started looking for it and found out that I sure do like landscape quilts. Not sure why, but they just appeal to me.

wvdek 04-23-2010 10:33 PM

Thanks for the show. So many nice ones. Did gaigai buy your quilt? Lucky her.

quiltluvr 04-23-2010 10:50 PM

Felt like we were there in person. Thanks for showing all that talent.

IrishNY 04-23-2010 10:50 PM

Karla,

Where exactly is the show? And does the Geneseo sweatshirt you're wearing in the picture mean you have a kid there? Me too.

Beautiful quilts - all of them including yours. Thanks for sharing.

dglvr 04-23-2010 11:10 PM

Great pics. You have talented quilters in your area. Thanks for sharing.

The show is at Marcus Whitman High School and yes I have a daughter at Geneseo!! She's a bio/psych major--one more year to go. Who do you have there???

QuiltingQueen 04-24-2010 02:51 AM

Thanks for the 'show'... the quilts were wonderful and it saved me money not being there in person! hehehehe!

The "My Sister's Dresses" quilt - I have it hanging on my guest room wall. I got a blue ribbon on it at the fair two years ago and I still love it. I grew up with four sisters and I always think of them when I see it.

Thanks again for taking me along!

She did!! It'll be shipped out soon!

Rachelcb80 04-24-2010 03:38 AM

Holy cow!!! Thanks for posting all those photos Karla! Every one of those quilts is lovely in it's own way. I loved that pansie one. Lots of applique work there! Shoot, I loved them all! Have ribbons been awarded yet?

barnbum 04-24-2010 03:46 AM

I don't think there are ribbons. I get judge's comments when I pick mine up. I emailed one of the guild members to ask how we can find out which two won Viewer's Choice. I told her all of us would love to know. It closes at 4:30 today, so maybe I'll head up at 4:00 to find out.

nanabirdmo 04-24-2010 04:46 AM

Karla, Thank you for posting all these wonderful pictures. Quilt shows are so inspiring. Even the quilts that aren't my favorites show me interesting, fun, unique, amazing things that my little brain never thought of.
I haven't had a chance to go to a quilt show this yr but thanks to all my friends here I don't have to miss out completely. Thanks again.

Katrine 04-24-2010 05:03 AM

Thank you for posting all these beautiful quilts. The only time I get near a quilt show is on here, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Wonderful quilts, all of them!

grammyp 04-24-2010 05:16 AM

OMG, I found so many I want to do! Those are all great, thanks so much for posting all the wonderful pictures. Now I gotta get started getting looking for patterns.

isnthatodd 04-24-2010 05:20 AM

I picked out my favorite one about 1/4 of the way thru, then added another one and another one and ... So now I'll just go back and look at all of them a few more times. I do really like the string quilt. But then, I'm a really scrappy sort of girl.

sandpat 04-24-2010 05:29 AM

Wow Karla...theres a ton of talent in your area! Some of those quilts just blew me away!!! (all of yours of course :D )...but that one with the cabin in the center, the elk, bears and eagle....its just stunning!! Thanks so much for sharing all these !

barnbum 04-24-2010 05:49 AM

WooHoo--I knew I had a pattern for a cabin quilt I had fallen in love with and it's the same one!! Cabin, deer, eagle, canoe, trees--everything! I read the quilt's story and the name of the quilt was not the name of the book--so I didn't think it was the same.

The name of the book is "Welcome to my Cabin" by Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan. :-D

AtHomeSewing 04-24-2010 05:59 AM

That was fun! Thanks for posting!
