It's finally done!!! Just pulled it out of the dryer and couldn't wait to get pictures!!

Definitely was a challenge doing this pattern still being a newbie, but I LOVED every minute of it and am actually playing a Christmas themed one eventually!!

Thanks for looking!

I love it! Are the white "lattice pieces" part of the piecing, or are they laid on top and top-stitched?

cmrenno 08-24-2014 01:53 PM

Love it!!! You did a wonderful job!

They are a part of the piecing. Jenny from Missouri Star did a tutorial on this one :). Definitely helped with the process for the top!

A lovely finish. What technique did you use for basting? It worked great to keep the quilt even. Very nice work.

A lot of people would never think to put those greens and blues together. I love this combination. Are the fabrics from a collection or your personal selection?

Your quilts are really exceptional as a beginner and it shows that you study and work to accomplish the best work you can. Well done!:D

Thank you so much!!! For the basting, I used my kitchen table and did a combo of spray basting and safety pins. The fabrics are from a layer cake by Freespirit Fabrics. I wish I could take credit for the color selection, but I can't.

Thanks again for the compliments!!

Thanks!! My new machine, "Rosie", did a great job on this one!! There is no way I would have been able to quilt it on my old machine!! I just did straight-line quilting... I'm not quite ready for FMQ yet. Between the interchangeable dual-feed foot and the 10" throat on my new machine, it went very quickly!

julybaby8 08-24-2014 05:46 PM
