Awe, thank you so much Henry, and thank you Cathie, yes the plot does thicken, here is the beginnings of a poem that will go with it, the first verse, i haven't thought of the other verses yet:
I am a rose that has no stem But i am not alone Many leaves surround, and care for me And protect me from life's storms Now, who is the rose? :) Anyways, now my machine is messing up again, so i hope i can get through this, will tell more later :) :) :) |

Oh dear, i can really use an opinion now. This will be a wallhanging, the corner squares will be white, and the rest of the centre will be white. I've seen log cabins done to look like stars, and this is my problem. I was hoping to do a star, but, with the roses in the cabins, do the roses detract from the star pattern so that the star is not noticeable, or is the star noticeable enough, and with a star, the roses get turned inward, and im hesitating if they dont look good that way, in the second photo i can make it like a diamond, not quite what i wanted, but a diamond is nice too, but the diamond looks better maybe, goes with centre diamond, and roses are turned outward, and if i did the diamond shape, maybe i would need to make the centre background floral? What does the star look like, and which one is better?

And here's the other photo
Okay barb I like number two better. I don't know why but I just do. Looking good
Thanks Renee. Yes, the more i look at it, even though i wanted a star, i think the roses turned inward looks kinda scrunchy, the diamond one just kind of flows and radiates out. I wonder if i do number two, if i should do the centre background white or floral, maybe floral so the diamond shape doesnt get broke up
That is beautiful.
awe, thank you quilt4u...think im gonna get to bed now, and mull this over in my sleep
I vote for Number 2 tooo!!!!! Barb it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I vote for #2. It is a beautiful quilt. They are such nice rich colors.
Oh Barb-That is just drop dead beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! It seems to me that is has an inner beauty, just like it's creator, you.
Billie G |
Both are beautiful, but I do prefer #2. You are a very talented lady.
I personally like #2, but both are very nice.
Oh wow! That is beatiful! I vote for # 2.
Barb, That is absolutely breath-taking!!!! I have never seen this log cabin variation, but I will not forget it now. Your fabric choices are to die for too--perfect!!!!! I KNOW you will get this finished!!!!
I am going to make it unanimous for number 2. And use the floral fabric in the center. Stunning!!!! |
I vote number 2 :):) Oh and your package is being sent off today :)
Barb, it is Stunning!! Your colors are gorgeous! :) #2 is my favorite layout. :)
Yes, #2 is my favorite, too.
absolutely beautiful. I vote for #2 also!
I vote for #2. It's beautiful. Can't wait to see it all finished :-)
I like #2. With a floral center, #1 might give you the star effect you're thinking you'd like. Either way, it's going to be a beautiful wall hanging. Great job!
I think # 2 wins hands down. That is so pretty!!!

Barb, I love it!!! Sooo pretty!! I say #2 also. I think for the star to work, you would need the darker colors in your rose block and the lighter in the center and corner squares. But this is still BEAUTIFUL!!!!
That is absolutley beautiful!
I vote for number 2...reminds me how a bouquet spreads out. K |
My vote is for #2. It is gorgeous.
awwwwwwwwwww you can do it dearheart. I'm really loving it. And the poem.... kinda sounds like me :D you go girl, i can't wait too see more of it...... I have faith in ya kiddo :D
I think that #2 is also the best choice.
And I would put the darker color(floral) aroun the center block. I think the higher contrast will make the diamond design show up more that white |
ok kiddo. i'm going with #2.
BEAUTIFUL!! I like the 2nd photo better.
