That's what one of the small farms did. They have about 30 white turkeys that are getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. It was really sad last year to see them get big and then all of a sudden they were gone.

What a great yard!

ohhhhhhhh...Thanksgiving dinner!! hehe

I see you are in Attica, In. I grew up in Kokomo and never saw a turkey in my life. Here in suburban Milwaukee, WI, they are like rats this time of year. Last weekend I saw a tom, a hen and 6 young turkeys.

We have a brood of about 20-25 wild turkeys in our neighborhood. They walk of our yards and down the streets. Their "droppings" are a problem too.
|
I miss our turkeys we had on our property when we moved here in 2000. But two rescue dogs (bird dogs) keep them at bay.

Oh oh, guess Thanksgiving is around the corner! Where has the year gone?

I always have my camera in the car but I had work done on it and kept it in the house. Wouldn't you know that one a ride through the National Park there were 6 turkey vultures eating something. Boo Hoo

We have wild turkeys in our area too. They are fun to watch and surprising to see fly. I thought they were cool when they roosted in our oak tree in the front of the house --- until I saw the mess they left on the driveway that night. I prefer them now from afar.

Loved the turkey photo! Thanks for letting us see also.
