My friend selected the pattern and bought fabric for a quilt, since I had told her I would make one if she bought the fabric. I sort of thought she would want to see pictures along the way or something, but she wants to wait and be surprised by the final result.

Fine...but I find that I don't really like this quilt. I am going to do just what she requested, but I know people have different reactions to quilts, fabrics, patterns, etc., and I would feel much better if someone out there told me this quilt really looks okay.

I have noticed a pattern in me that I tend not to like a quilt I am working on, but by the time I am finished, I really like it. I hope that is the case with this.

I am obviously not finished, just putting the borders on my design wall, trying to convince myself that I like it and that my friend will too.

What do you mean you don't like it???? I love it. the colors are wonderful and the butterflies pop! If she doesn't like it send it my way:)!

You may just not be used to the high contrast. It is very pretty and the light colors make the butterflies float!

Something happens to a quilt when you quilt it, it seems to blend the whole thing together.

The fabrics are her choosing so you know she will like that. I think we all worry too much.

i think you've got a beautiful quilt going. i love the butterfly print. it pulls the blues beautiful. i wonder what either the blue or yellow would look like as the binding edge?? :D

It's really pretty....If I were to do anything more to it I would prissy cut a few butterflies and applique them randomly on the quilt

Hhhmm, much like yourself, I don't like this quilt, unlike you, I absolutely love it. The blue really makes those butterflies fly right out of the background. I think she has done a great job picking fabric.

I love the colors. I would ask myself what is it I don't like? If you think there's not enough color, you could applique some butterflies or flowers. :D

It is already very pretty. Just throwing out an idea here - - I've found that I really like seeing applique on quilts; have you considered possibly appliqueing (sp??) just a couple of butterflies on the blue/cream squares, scattered on the quilt? It might look awful or maybe will be just what you're looking for.

I Love it, Makes me feel that the butterflies are flitting around. You can almost feel the slight breeze of the butterfly wings.
