It is quilting related though! My 9yo son was wanting to make me something for my birthday and he asked me what I wanted. I tried to come up with something he could make on his own. I told him I needed something to put bobbins on...that in the little drawer I had them in they got tangled. So he asked for a bobbin and took off. This is what he came up with. He used only stuff he could find around the house :) and he is so proud that he did it by himself! It works perfectly and now finding bobbins is easy and they're not tangled! Oh well sorry that picture is sideways...

Awesome! I still have a shelf/bookcase my son made when he was 10, it is very lopsided but I love it!

Its just a regular thread one and I put the small end of the cone on first.

isn't it sweet what they come up with? my son yesterday carved me an 'awl' to ease the fingerhold when guiding fabric thru the machine. it's a bit crooked and not tooo smooth but i just love it :thumbup:
