Maui storm at sea progress
1 Attachment(s)
I picked up these batiks while we were on Maui last fall...had this quilt in my head after seeing something like it on the internet. I used a printable coloring sheet for the storm at sea blocks, and used Deb Tucker’s ruler to make the diamonds. I pieced the square in squares the traditional way. I have green batiks to applique Honu turtles on the “sand”. The rows still need sewn together, but I am excited to have it this far before spring arrives and the flowerbeds will consume my days! :)

Beautiful, JillMc. The design evokes the sea lapping onto the beach. Great memento from your time in Maui.;)

Beautiful, that's great color placement for a storm at sea. Or should I say, Storm at shore. Please show it again when you place the turtles. Good job.

SAS is my favorite pattern and your color wash design is an awesome interpretation of it. Can't wait to see it finished. I am also a big fan of Deb Tucker's tools. I wouldn't attempt that diamond rec without her tool.

Quite impressive with the look of a sandy beach and an open sea. Love it!
