Just went to walmart to get some thread. Of course they didnt have what i needed. Maybe should have gone to your house.

I would wonder!

.... whatever do you have so much thread?

redquilter 08-08-2011 12:30 PM

None of my business - but why do you have so much thread? That's a really big collection!

amyjo 08-08-2011 12:49 PM

she maybe has a serger and therefore uses a lot of spools. or she could just have gotten it at bargain barrel prices and stocked up, just like ME!!! I buy when it is real cheap and my hubby also buys if he sees it at a sale and I am not there.

LLWinston44 08-08-2011 12:55 PM

Holy jamoly that's a LOT of thread!!!!v that drawer unit you have it in is neat!

ploverwi2 08-08-2011 12:56 PM

Oh my! Are you additcted to buying thread! I don't even see that much in the store. You must quilt 24/7. Don't you worry about the thread spoiling in time, if it is not used? Oh well, what do I know anyway. I would love to see the rest of your studio. Thanks for sharing your beautiful thread collection.

Mariposa 08-08-2011 12:59 PM

Wow! Now that's a collection of threads!! Neat little white cabinet too~

scraphq 08-08-2011 01:02 PM

I hope you have enough fabric to go with all your thread!

skothing 08-08-2011 02:22 PM

Yes I love thread. But all this came about during a viking dealer closing shop. He had thread 75% off. Hope you saw the dehumidifier behind the picture. I have 2 going. I have a Juki 644 surger and an Elna cover stitch surger. I have a Diamond embroidery machine I had since they came out. Another Viking that I loan out. To do a shawl that I want takes 15 spools! I sew most days. And the surgers are set up all the time. Oh I have a collection of wood spools in an antique jar on the shelf.

BTW the white drawers are 2 Treasure chests I got them when I bought the machines.

Yes my fabric is greater still. But not yet completely organized. Working on it. Pictures available when I get the work done.

greensleeves 08-08-2011 02:56 PM

That sure looks like a lot of thread but its not too much when you do machine embroidery, watched a friend do some and could not believe how much thread it takes to do the designs. Lucky you to get so much for such a good deal. Neat the way you have it stored.

PWinston 08-08-2011 03:19 PM

That's more thread than you see in some quilt shops. You've got the market cornered.

Jim's Gem 08-08-2011 03:40 PM

You sure have a lot of thread!

purplefiend 08-08-2011 03:49 PM

Some machine embroidery designs take 20 or more different colors. I used to work for Husqvarna Viking; it was great to get paid for doing fun stuff. :-D

Lioness3xs 08-08-2011 03:51 PM

what great storage containers and I can see you were color coordinating nice touch

gzuslivz 08-08-2011 03:55 PM

Great job with the organization! Most of us have an abundance of something. Yours just happens to be threads! thanks for the inspiration to continue on with my organization.

NancyG 08-08-2011 04:59 PM

WOW....that has got to be a record for most thread stashed. Looks great all organized like you have it.

Nettie Phillips 08-08-2011 05:06 PM

Lots and lots of thread.

JoyjoyMarie 08-09-2011 03:50 AM

Does your Dad own Coats and Clark?? LOL

Beautiful organization!

glorcour 08-09-2011 04:03 AM

Would love to share this with you. That's a lot of thread

quiltntoday 08-09-2011 04:45 AM

Wow!! I thought I had a lot of thread since I was in the thread of the month club for Aurifil and have all their threads. I also love all of Superior threads and have a lot of Rainbow. But my collection doesn't even compare to yours.

Do you have an embroidery machine and a serger? They require lots of thread. We want to see your fabric stash too!!!

shirley35 08-09-2011 05:36 AM

Wow! What wonderful thread, great contains.

tutty 08-09-2011 05:44 AM

do people come shop at your place !!! LOL I thought I had a lot !!! Bought some on sale to but was not for regular sewing that I do !!!!

unclefreckles 08-09-2011 05:51 AM

WOW!!! Lots of thread, but the storage is looking great. I have one of the Maderia thread boxes and I love the looks of it and the threads. Only problem I have is getting replacement spools that fit.

Karen Collins 08-09-2011 06:05 AM

I see a photo of your pegboard on your photo on the sidebar. Could you show a larger pic? I have a great pegboard in my sewing room, but need some help in organizing and placing different quilt items (tools, etc.). As a fairly new quilter, I need all the help I can get!

vivoaks 08-09-2011 06:14 AM

That would be enough thread to last me the rest of my natural life!!! And probably my unnatural life, too!!

grammysharon 08-09-2011 06:52 AM

Now I am jealous!!!

caspharm 08-09-2011 06:54 AM

Nice thread storage. That almost looks like when I went to Superior Threads warehouse in St. George.

GramaLaura 08-09-2011 07:12 AM

Wow that looks really great!!! :-D
