I think you did a great job. Just square it up and frame it if you want to, but I think it could be quilted too. I did my first mini this summer and hand quilted it very simply--just diagonal lines. It can be quilted fairly quickly because of its size.

Nice scrappy--very colorful!

LOVE your mini quilt! I make little doll size quilts, but have never even considered trying such tiny squares! Someone earlier suggested setting it off with some small borders - but it would be really great if you continued with your theme of little squares after adding a solid border. And I really do LOVE bindings made from striped fabric cut on the diagonal.. Can't wait to see what you do next!

I love your little quilt. I too rescue little pieces of fabric. When I need to unwind, I cut them into 1 inch squares. Haven't sewn them together for anything yet. I just like to look at them. haha I love the scrappy look too!

Wow! What an inspiration you are. Makes me what to try this too. At least now I know it can be done. My attempts will have to be postponed until next year, though as there are too many other things waiting in the wings. What a great mini!

What a teeny, tiny little masterpiece! I'm impressed! I love it! I agree with you... I'd frame it, too.

It's just so cute! I love tiny pieces. So so cute. Wait I said that already!

What a fabulous quilt! I don't think I could work effectively with pieces that small, especially half-square triangles.

This is fantastic! Welcome to the club of craziness! It certainly can be addicting, just wait you will want to do more. Yes a nice 1/2" finished inner boarder would be nice (make it a dark fabric--would black work?) To determine the size of the second border fold your fabric to the finished size and see if you like it. I audition different fabrics for borders and you'd be surprised what is "the perfect" border. Were you thinking of HQ this? On pieces this small the quilting can sometimes detract from all the beautiful piecing. MQ straight rows down the center of your darks and then lights with an invisible nylon or polyester thread would reinforce the strong lines of your quilt and not detract from the piecing. Do you understand what I mean?
I, like you, have quilt friends save me their little scraps--I think they just wait to see what I will come up with. I have also sewn to finished 1/4", but haven't worked with HST's that size. Most of my mini's start out with what's in the tiny bin box and tell me how to finish them. I very seldom cut my pieces to size but just take from the say 3/4" or 1" box.
Here are a few of mine.
