very cute!!!!

Too cute! It turned out great!
|
this is way more complicated than I would try but I love this quilt! Especially the more subtle grey monkeys going the opposite direction. And thanks for posting the one before it was all joined together! Such soothing colors for using orange (not a particularly soothing color...).

That is so cute-- I love everything about it! I know it had to be hard to keep everything straight. It would have probably driven me crazy, but I'm still going to bookmark it. I know I'll need to give it a try whenever a future grandson comes along!
How did you do the heads? Machine embroidery and applique? What a lot of work! |
It looks much harder than it is! All you need are 42 paper pieced snail trail blocks, one of the easiest blocks for paper piecing.
In my case 14 brown/grey and another 14 in brown/grey as mirror image to the first 14 and 7 in orange/grey and again 7 mirror images of that. If you look at the legs you can see that they are all the same: two turning to the right, two to the left. I printed the paper piecing templetes and colored one of each categorie by hand and then copied the number needed. Then I put it on the floor, was able to see the monkeys and sewed one by one. The last row of triangles I pinned to it and then I could see which four had to go together for the bodies ore the background. Well, I guess I can sew better than explaining..........lol |
That's adorable! Great job!
