Am I addicted????

JANW 02-10-2009 07:36 PM

beautiful, but it looks hard. Is it?

Lisa T 02-10-2009 07:37 PM

These are beautiful! I want to make one someday. They look like art! I love the colors and how you laid them out.
The bottom quilt looks like pies to me! LOL! Yum! (Really fancy pies, not mine!)
Could you post a picture of the fabrics you used? Or is it the same as the fabric on the border?

ksusan 02-10-2009 07:38 PM

I saw the second posting first....

Your work is wonderful. Thank you for sharing :)

utahquiltlady 02-10-2009 07:38 PM

I used the same fabric in the blocks that is the border

utahquiltlady 02-10-2009 07:40 PM

Actually the hardest part is cutting the fabric the rest is easy.

Shemjo 02-10-2009 08:19 PM

Your quilts are lovely! I really like the variety of colors you get from one fabric! Lining up the fabrics with the repeat is the most difficult part-to keep them from slipping when you cut your slices! Love how easy they do go together.
I would say you are addicted, but it is a good addiction, at least more acceptable!

twistedstitcher 02-10-2009 08:38 PM

WOW! They're all so beautiful. You certainly have a knack for choosing the perfect fabric for these!

ScubaK 02-10-2009 08:58 PM

Wow!!!
You ARE addicted...but I would be too!!!
How do you make these?
They are new to me!!!
Please share me the info...

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 02-11-2009 01:21 PM

Those are definately on my to-do list, I even bought a book for reference, and fabric to make it with, but I haven't come close to starting, lol!

Can I ask how long these take to piece?

Butterflyspain 02-11-2009 01:25 PM

I think these are particularly beautiful. I have looked at this tecnique but never tried it, is it easy ???

sewsewquilter 02-11-2009 04:24 PM

Beautiful! Looks way to hard.

sewnsewer2 02-11-2009 06:07 PM

Pretty! With my vertigo I'd be dizzy sewing it.

littlehud 02-11-2009 07:23 PM

I really need to make one of these. Beautiful.

Marcia 02-11-2009 07:46 PM

Beautiful and definitely on my to-do list

Caroltee 02-11-2009 09:36 PM

Very very nice. ?? Is this the same as stack and wack ??

k_jupiter 02-11-2009 10:32 PM

Sort of. Whack and Stack is a simplified, but not by much, method of getting identical pieces cut for a k_scope quilt. Other methods include cutting clear templates and then trimming carefully to pull the elements together.

This is a nice book I found at the library:

http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art1708.asp

Just be aware that they take up a fair amount of fabric since everything is fussy cut and the points of the elements get pretty thick when you are sewing them, making it hard to get consistent seams.

And no, I haven't tried one yet, it's on the list of things to do in 2034.

sewhappy57 02-12-2009 12:27 AM

Wow stunning! Great colors! I've make quite a few these and never seen to tire of their beauty. :D :D :D

eparys 02-13-2009 04:19 PM

Those are beautiful!

sandpat 02-13-2009 04:20 PM

Really really really pretty!!!

mfre42day 02-14-2009 10:47 AM

I love these, I see books for them and wish they were something I had more time to do! Your's are absolutely gorgeous! And, I personlly like the prints you mkke from them better than the borders, lol! A job well done...

mpspeedy 02-14-2009 12:40 PM

You may be addicted but they are spectacular. While I have the patience to handquilt a king size white on white I would have a nervous breakdown making a quilt like that.

Absolutely beautiful.

mrsjdt 02-15-2009 07:17 AM

 absolutely fantabulous!!!!! How I envy tose who can piece like that!!!

Bevanger 02-15-2009 07:34 AM

gorgeous :D

This lady is a blogger from Romania...she has lots of pictures and explains in great detail different ways to make these...i even understand some of it

tlrnhi 02-15-2009 07:44 AM

I have some kalaidascope fabric already cut just sitting somewhere in my room. I bought it years ago with the intention to make a small lap quilt.
