This is a quilt that I saw hanging up in a local hospital. I fell in love with the pattern and spent 2 years trying to find the maker.
I finally did and it turns out that she just used a pattern that she had and added the setting triangles. It's not a pattern but I have figured out a way to do it |
What a gorgeous quilt!
WOW!!!
That is absolutely beautiful!!! Now do I have to spend the next couple of years searching for the pattern or could you share? Please, pretty please? :-D |
Please, please also, I love this!!!!!
'lo again - back for another look! Wiping the drool off my keyboard. :-D It really is stunning, if I look one way I see hearts and blink and look again, suddenly it's zig zags, and the way the colours fade and blend into each other..; did I say, I LOVE it? :-D
Oh WOW!!! I have to make that also!!!!
Once I heard from the woman that made the quilt, I found out that all she did was make the hearts and then sew them together with the different triangles.
I have drafted a layout on graph paper and have kind of figured out how to put it together(it's going to be difficult as you have to add the blocks but not completely finish the seam so that you can add another block to it) If anyone would like to have a copy of what I drafted to look at, send me your snail mail address and I'll get copies made to send out |
Wow :!: I am very impressed. How did she/he do the printing
Stunning! I have always loved bright colors. Are you making yours the same size? Looks wonderful to snuggle up in.
Oops, sorry
It was behind a piece of protective plexiglass and that had the printing on it. |
I have recently got EQ6 and am thinking it must be possible to draft a layout in that. The question is, am I up to doing it or not? I'll give it a go and of course, share any useful results. I'd love to see what you've drafted but I live in France and hate to ask you to mail international; I guess you don't have the facility to scan in and send by email or post here as a jpeg?
Actually, I'm going to try taking a picture of what I have drafted and then post that

Very cool. Did you use up your scraps for that or spend they day at the quilt store? I love it. Your fabric choices are great. :D :D :D
That is so beautiful! I can see why you want to make one so badly!!
This is such a neat quilt. Love how the longer you look at it the more you see. The color variations are great. Seems simple enough, sort of. Look forward to further posts.

Okay, here is a picture of the draft that I did
If you can see the red dash lines, those are completed quilt blocks. The green dashes are where you can join the 2 different block types together Here is another pic. |
that is soooooo very pretty
Awesome!
OMGosh, that is lovely!
That sure is a gorgeous quilt. It's no wonder you'd want to make one. The shading is beautiful.
That is awesome. I love it. Great job.
Very, very gorgeous quilt. I see the construction idea, and think I will give it a try. Do you have the maker's name? I would like to give credit on the label I put on it. Thanks!!
Does the construction seem logical to you? It was about the only way that I could figure it out. The lady that made the quilt made up the individual heart blocks, and then put them together with the setting triangles. That seemed like to much work for me.
Her name is Rosaline Lees. Let me know if you see anything else as far as any other kind of shortcuts or insights you might have. |
Wow--gorgeous!!!! It's so creative.
It's a beauty, looks terribly difficult though...good luck with yours!
It will definitely be a while until I attempt it. I'm working on gathering the material; I figure there are 20 different materials for each color heart
Just beautiful! would you also send me info on how you made it? I'm just finishing my first quilt and am quilt crazy!
I didn't make this quilt. I saw it and took pictures of it and found the maker of the quilt.
There was no pattern so I drafted it in full and then tried to figure out how the blocks were assembled. |
Ah, okay...looks great! i did see the picture after i posted...first post too...lots to learn!
So it looks to me like 2 fairly easy blocks. I think it makes perfect sense. You did a great job figuring it out!!! I hope someone gets it on EQ.
beautiful!
that is so pretty. i can't wait to see how yours turns out
Thank you so much for sharing.. that is breathtaking.. our municipal building has quilts displayed.. different ones every month.. lol.. I can't wait to pay utility bill and see what is up.
It's beautiful.
Wow! Gorgeous quilt! Great color study example. Good for you that you didn't give up seeking the initial info from the maker...better yet, you were determined to improve on the construction technique...best for all of us that you were not only willing, but also anxious to share your efforts, your enthusiasm, and your appreciation of a fellow quilter's fantastic work. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Gorgeous would love to make in all different reds.

How about it EQ6ers? Is Pittsburg Pam looking at this thread?
Another possibility is Lisa Maki's (Crooked Nickel) on-point fusible Pellon method. I'll have to think about it a while, but maybe I can come up with a design using her method. |
Beautiful!!!!
