I am having a love affair with mini quilts right now and thought I'd share the two most recent ones I've made...thanks for looking!
I love them both. The second one really strikes my fancy!:)
Love this one! Seeing this I think I'll have a go myself. Thanks for sharing.
Awwww--those are really cute!! Love that second one--the fabrics just POP out at you!!
Ooooh, really pretty.
They are both beautiful. I am intriqued by the setting of the second one.
They look great!
OK.. I just have to ask even if it's nosey.. is the second one pieced or a single "panel" of fabric.. it is just amazing and I LOVE it!!!
OK.. I've looked as closely as I can.. even got a "nose smudge" on the computer screen... and it looks pieced.. how DID you do that???? You must have the patience of Job...!!!
those are great
I really like the second one too, so am waiting to hear how you did it! Great job! I am growing to love doing smaller quilts too!
Both nice, but that second one is really beautiful!
A great job on both of them quilts-minis are so much fun.
Pls tell us abt the second one and how you did it. Reminds me of broken tile pieces...
i just love the second one!
that second one is drool - worthy! Mind if I imitate it for an Alz Quilt?
Thank you everyone for your kind comments! Okay, the second one was just finished. I fussy cut small squares and rectangles out and positioned them on a background fabric. It takes a bit of time to figure out what you want to do and how to place them...and then you also have to take into consideration the outer edges, making sure they line up, so for the most part I just found things I wanted to include and cut...but as I placed them on the background I did have to cut to fit some of the pieces. I then used a glue stick to attach them to the fabric and then straight stitched around the edges with monofilament thread. You could do whatever method of applique you wanted to do...I just liked the whimsy of a small raw edge.

Great job on both of them. Minis are so fun.

Great quilts, the second one is particularly pretty.
Stunning. I LOVE the 2nd one. Did you quilt the outer border all the way around, or just the top & bottom? I'd love to see the blocks close up. :)
You got my juices stirring for me making one! They are so cute and adorable. Love the 2nd one especially.
Both are very pretty.

Love them both. I think I will make a mini like that with the scraps of each quilt that I have going.
Now the second one is delightful. A great idea. |
OK I understand it's applique wit just a reg straight stitch around each piece...But as I look at it you have depth between each piece...How did you get that? It looks like each piece puffs out and the lines inbetween are sunken in...Again reminds me so much of tile work and grout lines.

Adorable!!
