to be honest I would repeat the brown on the outside if not as a border , as a binding. The double red takes away from the center, Good luck

If her wall is a light green, I would the the extra red border. If it isn't I wouldn't. But as others have said, it's totally up to you.

Originally I was thinking about that, making a lap quilt but thought the subject matter leant itself more to a wall hanging.
Maybe I will reconsider and go back to the original idea because I do think she would prefer that to a wall hanging.

I vote for the final boarder being red - really makes a bold statement; then bind in one of your greens. BUT, I'm sure what ever you decide will be great!
