Murphy bed and quilt finally finished!

Hello all,

Well it's been an interesting 6 week project. Create and install a Murphy bed and a topper quilt for my granddaughter. Project took about 100 hours and $1400 for materials. All in all it was a challenge to do two time consuming projects at the same time, but when Kylee was propped up in her new bed reading a book the other night, it was worth it! I doubt I will ever do multiple projects again. Days in the shop fabricating the bed and early morning/late night quilting was pushing the bar higher and I am glad it's done-whew!! The smile :) on Kylee's face made it all worthwhile. Kylee picked out the top and bottom thread colors and the quilt pattern. All quilt fabric is leftover/donated pieces. I made the quilt a two sided one. Hope you enjoy.

Wow!! Beautiful job on bed & quilt!! I have wanted to do one myself but you have to have all that floor space to let it down don't you??

Cute quilt and bet she was happy to be a part of it. Makes it more special and makes it hers. great job on the project and the cabinet is beautiful.

They have set ups for horizontal lay outs also. Our ceiling fan was in the way for a vertical.

Actually her room is small and a permanent full size bed was out of the question. Kylee at 11 yrs. old out grew the twin bed and the Murphy frees up a lot of space during the day. My only concern was the ceiling fan and it turned out to be no problem. Everything turned out just fine.

Nice job! You say a Murphy bed but I see a design wall possibility.:D

Nice job all around. I see you did the same thing we did with our Murphy bed...but it close to the wall...have you been challenged when you have to put the sheets on? Ours is a queen size and didn't have any choice...we were just happy to get it done and in...sure makes great space for play time!

Lovely, nice job on both projects. The only thing missing is a picture of Kylee.
