Thusnelda: I bought my paint at Menards and it is oil based. The color is just called Barn Red. My daughter has helped me paint some, and she doesn't get as much paint on her as I always seem to! I am pretty speckeled when I am through. I just tell her that she isn't putting enough on!

I love it. You did a great job. In July we went to visit my daughter in Ohio and did a quick little barn quilt block tour. It was fun. we are working on one to put on a shed we have. It's red. Can I coun't that as a mini mini barn?

ooooh, I love it, the barn too. Yes, I am a barn lover. These magnificant old structures are slowly disappearing from our landscapes. No matter what the condition, they all have a story.

My hubby is also a barn lover. He grew up on a farm in northern IL. Many car rides get interrupted when we stop to take pictures. Barns that have been neglected or falling down and could be saved make him very sad. Some of the pictures he takes end up in the relief carvings he does. :)
