Do you have to stitch and cut in any specific direction? I wasn't sure if it needed to be with the grain, diagonal to it, or what, to make the chenille part look right.

I just drew my sew line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. I don't think it makes a difference if you go from top left or top right to the opposite end. Hope this answers your question

Myrna--what a fun project!! I love it. Did you buy a chenille cutter or did you use scissors?

It is a alot of fun to make. I have both the chenille cutter which just zips thru and I have a pair of scissors for cutting chenille. The scissors are a bit harder to use and takes longer but is still fun to do.
