Okay...more photos with my new camera! :)

This queen-sized whole cloth quilt is what I am currently working on with my hand-quilting. The backing is black and white floral...almost a toile.

Once washed, the blue lines will disappear and all you will see are the stitching lines.

Very pretty. I'm handquilting a queen sizw whole cloth quilt. May get done in 10 years or so :)

scraphq 12-05-2010 03:34 PM

Very nice. I made the same one. Thought the fabric was very hard to quilt. Took me 6 yrs, on and off. Gorgeous
finished product.

earthwalker 12-05-2010 03:35 PM

Very elegant pattern...it will look stunning when finished. Keep us posted.

rootyr 12-05-2010 03:36 PM

Wow!

mpspeedy 12-05-2010 03:38 PM

My kind of quilting. I have a queen size bed quilt I finished years ago and another kit somewhere in my stash. I find that kind of quilting so relaxing. You are doing a beautiful job.

KathyAire 12-05-2010 03:41 PM

My, my, my. That will be gorgeous. I could start now, and work on it 12 hours a day for the rest of my life and I still wouldn't get it finished. I love the looks of hand quilting but the thought of doing it makes me weary. I'm having anxiety attacks just thinking about it.
Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

azdesertrat 12-05-2010 03:44 PM

I saw some of those at the bernina sewing center inside my local Hancocks.seriously thinking of getting one.

chickadeee55 12-05-2010 03:45 PM

Very nice hand quilting. I will be a prize winner when you are finished. Is this very outside of the quilt? How big will it be when finished?

beberle 12-05-2010 04:12 PM

Beautiful!

littlelemon 12-05-2010 04:13 PM

Wow, that looks amazing!

Harmony 12-05-2010 04:23 PM

Gorgeous! Do you mind telling me what the name of the pattern is and where you got it? You've certainly got your work cut out for you, but it looks like you've got a great start!

S D G 12-05-2010 04:27 PM

Beautiful does not begin to discribe this quilt.

GrannyW5 12-05-2010 04:34 PM

Okay...I thought it was either just me...or maybe the backing was too tightly woven! I have bent soooooooooo many needles...and I haven't even gotten very far yet! I can't imagine how many needles I'll go through doing this! I did find that if I don't try to load too many on the needle, it doesn't bend as much, though.

But the fabric is very tight...

Lynneander 12-05-2010 05:01 PM

stunning!

When finished it should be approx. 90 X 100. As printed it is 90 X 90...but I added a scalloped border stencil to the sides to make it a little wider. Our bed has a footboard so I don't need the quilts to be longer than they are wide...I need them wider than they are long.

We have a waterbed frame with an air mattress in it instead of a waterbed mattress, so I have to have extra on the sides to make up for the space taken up by the side rails.

miss_ticky2 12-05-2010 05:34 PM

Wow...beautiful! I admire you people who have the patience to hand quilt - especially something that big. Well done!

BizzieLizzie 12-05-2010 05:38 PM

Truly amazing! I applaud the effort and patience that you have to have to quilt a whole quilt! It is looking lovely at the moment and I am sure it is going to look absolutely fantastic when it is finished Perhaps one day I'll have a go! Best wishes!

needles3thread 12-05-2010 05:59 PM

Wonderful.

trish b 12-05-2010 06:25 PM

You have a lovely quilt going, best wishes to you. The quilt frame is very nice, looks easy to use. I made one twenty years ago which I designed myself. It took me a year because I had three children at home and a full time job.

tlpa 12-05-2010 06:28 PM

Wow...that is a LOT of work!

raedar63 12-05-2010 06:29 PM

I know the feeling ! hand-quilting is one place I always feel the Quilt Police looking over my shoulder. love to do it, just need to get over that the stitches have to be small & even. I think all that comes with practice, which I do get enough of.
have a Birds of the State (48) that my MIL embroidered that I started hand-quilting in 3/4" grids. now have to finish like that. maybe this is the Winter to do that. now that I see so many telling the quilt police to go jump.

Ditter43 12-05-2010 08:22 PM

That will be a knockout!! Keep up the good work!! :D

sueisallaboutquilts 12-05-2010 08:46 PM
