On a spur of the moment decision I decided to go to the fabric shack today. It is a 2 hour drive but I had the day off and it was raining so I thought what the heck.. Boy am I glad I did. This is my new favorite place.. I could have spent thousands in there today. I have never seen that much quilting material in one place. I got 10 1/2 yards of material for 48 bucks. that includes 3 yards of Kona Cotton. WOW
They had so much clearance material that was from 3 to 5 dollars a yard. I know I will have to go back. Hopefully soon.

You have some very nice fabrics there, have fun.

SueDor 04-25-2011 01:49 PM

Cool!

raedar63 04-25-2011 01:50 PM

I LOVE the fabric shack, I get in soooooo much trouble there. I don't know if I ever got any deals that good. I used to shop there scrap tables but they raised the scrap prices. they are an hour away from me, I can spend hours in there.

PegD 04-25-2011 01:50 PM

Nice farics. Where is the fabric shack? I will be passing that way in the next few weeks.

EasyPeezy 04-25-2011 02:04 PM

Nice. Do I feel a red and white quilt coming? ;)

It is in Waynesville Oh.. just a small town outside of Dayton.
You should definatly stop if you are going that way.

maryel 04-25-2011 02:07 PM

WOW, What a lucky find for you! :-D

quiltin chris 04-25-2011 02:08 PM

Yes that is a fabulous fabric store. I am about 90 minutes away. I don't go very often because of the distance and I would spend too much money.

It is a great place especially if you are needing any items for a project. Just looking is fun too.
I used to eat at the Der Dutchman just down the road til it burned last year.

I have also window shopped Fabric Shack online. Not quite as much fun as going to the store but still a lot of fun.
Chris

Oh boy - I "feel" a red and white quilt in your future! Unless, of course, you are going to add a like assortment of black and white to spice things up! LOL Great fabric selection and great deal for sure.

Actually yes. These are some of the materials for my Jane quilt. I started it once and did 20 blocks with materials that were given to me but I wasnt really excited about it. I really wanted to do in pinks, reds and browns so I am going to start over. It might be done in 20 years.. LOL But I have 33 pieces now to use..

I wondered why that Dear Dutchman was not open.. I thought that was strange.. To bad they have wonderful food... and I love browsing the shop. We actually go to the one in Plain City OH. it is only about 40 mins away.

cmagee84 04-25-2011 02:21 PM

They have a great online store.. It is alittle hard to manuver around maybe because that is because they have thousands of choices. Oh and I think their shipping is still 1/2 price.. up to 10yards for 2.50

clynns 04-25-2011 02:59 PM

I found the place during the Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, Ohio, but they were closed that day. Last year we went earlier and they were open. It's huge! So much fabric, so many rooms. Friendly staff. My DH had to drag me out. Don't go often, it's an hour and a half drive. I just checked it out on MapQuest. OMG, it's only 62 miles. Hold on Nellie, I'm on my way....

GagaSmith 04-25-2011 03:08 PM

quiltinggirl 04-25-2011 07:02 PM

Kudos to you!! I don't live anywhere near this store, but I do purchase from this shop online. Love shopping with this store!!

BevF 04-25-2011 07:04 PM

At those prices I hope you bought enough for what you are doing because they won't be there when you go back (they'll go fast)! Great selection! I can spend hours looking in store or on line, although I find it easier to buy when I'm actually in the store and seeing how the colors go together.

AnnieF 04-25-2011 07:08 PM

OMG....you were in a "red" mood.....I love red!! Nice find.

JEM65 04-25-2011 07:12 PM

What a fabulous collection of reds and pinks for your stash! Congratulations!

I love the Fabric Shack. I go there every year while on vacation. We go to Cowan lake and it is about 20 minutes down the road. They have a wonderful selection of fabrics.
