You did a Great Work! Lovely! 8-)

bamamama 03-02-2011 08:29 AM

What a wonderful quilt. I bought a pattern for the Paper Piecing for one similar. Can't wait to get started on it now!

Rina 03-02-2011 09:08 AM

Thanks everyone! The pattern was in the beginning of last year at Keepsake Quilting. (Now you all know how long I worked on it!) To make it larger, I used a method that I learned from a book about Reversible Quilts by Sharon Pederson. Actually, I used that method for all the blocks. In the beginning it wasn't so easy (for me), but once you understand it, it is going easy. I had a bit of difficulty with doing the maths part but it ended well.

That is YUMMY!
I LOVE pieced backs!
You said you did QAYG, so did you piece each block on a random back piece, or plan it all out?

mollys learning 03-02-2011 11:32 AM

All I can say is WOW!

BevF 03-02-2011 12:15 PM

kreinhart742 03-02-2011 12:29 PM

That is just gorgeous nicely done

dhanke 03-02-2011 12:39 PM

I am loving those beautiful bright colors, and the back is so pretty too! Gorgeous quilting, I like the way it shows so well on the backing. I piece my backing with ten inch squares, but I've never sashed or bordered them, I'll have to try that!

sandilee 03-02-2011 02:12 PM

Beautiful! I am currently doing a qayg. thanks for showing the back. Was wondering how it would look like.

Very pretty! The colours are bright but soft and I love the way the rows merge into each other.

No, I quilted each block with a leftover bali at the back and then I worked out my layout on my designwall and didn't look at the back at all. Maybe I should have done the layout first and then turn them around and put a Bali on each one in the way I would like it, because in the way I did it, there is a few light blocks next to each other.
