DLM, it's difficult to tell. I started the quilt last year February and I finished it this February - so thats a year, BUT, I belong to a quilting group and we work on Tuesdays from 9 - 1. As you can imagine, we don't start directly and we drink tea and we talk... That is the only day I work on my quilt and I was away for 5 weeks! So, it didn't really take so long. I finished another quilt that I made for a grandson and I made a tablerunner for my DIL inbetween as well.

Tamara, personally I think that this is the easiest way of quilting. You don't sit with a whole quilt that you try to squeeze through the opening of the machine! You do it one block at a time. Adding the shashing takes more time, but it is so much easier than doing the whole quilt. I must admit, there is more hand sewing to be done, but I can live with it.

k9dancer 03-04-2011 05:18 AM

stoppain 03-04-2011 05:19 AM

Rina, have you ever tried Deb's method? I did that one and it was easy. Like you say you only work on a small piece at a time. I'm working on the borders now. Inspired by yours.

Grammy - what is or where can I find Deb's method?

aorlflood 03-04-2011 07:17 AM

OH WOW! Just SPECTACULAR!

Did you machine quilt it yourself or hand quilt it? Even working as QAYG, it still looks like very difficult quilting!
