I have a Bernina 1530 that is from that same series of Bernina. I haven't had any problem with mine, Enjoy!

I bought a Bernina 1006 at a flea market and I just love it. It works fantastically. Good Luck.

Prism99--I second that. I love my Bernina 1230. We have grown old together. I get it serviced regularly. The other day it was sewing real slowly. I didn't do anything but turn it off and it fixed itself. DebbieCharlie--I have the serge pictured also. Sew on that at a moderate speed. It can go very fast but the thread tends to break at top speed. I don't use mine very often but it does do a nice job when I need seams finished.

Wow, Debbie! You'll be able to go to town on that serger making Kaye Wood's 6-hr. quilt. I also serge the cut ends of my fabric before washing.
|
Congrats! I used to be a bernina fan, but now I'm a brother fan. LOL

Wow, lucky lady. Such great buys. As for the serger, relax & take your time. I have had several sergers & they take some time to learn & can be intimidating at first, but you can handle it.

I have a 334D serger that looks just like this one. I have used it for over 32 years with just minimal service. Finally put a new blade in last year.
My reg machine is a 1260-Love it! I had an 1130 but had an opportunity to upgrade 18 years ago to a 1260 floor model at my dealer. I sew every day and it still purrs along. |
lucky you.

Great buys! A note on the serger....I have a Viking 905 (which I love), but on some of these older sergers (like mine) it is very important to thread it in a specific order. Try to find a manual, or Google to see how to thread your machine.
