Wow! What a clever and unique idea to bash the flowers in with a hammer. I would never have thought of that in a million years.
These are very nice! I can't believe these are your first ones. Can't wait to see what you do next! |
Beautiful job. Never heard of hammering flowers into fabric. I'm gonna have to try that. Thank you for the instructions.

hammer the real flowers onto your fabric? It turned out just wonderful!! :D :D :D :D :D also try different flowers as some are too dry, these don't come through, and some are too juicy, these bleed into material and smudge. 1. a surface you can use a hammer on 2. lay a peice of (white) material on surface, to blot any excess dye 3. lay another peice of white material on top of the first peice of material, to print on 4. place flower you wish to print on top of all that and another peice of material over all of that and start hammering firm but gently Do 1 flower at a time. We did this when we were kids hope you like it. Rdem I just attended a small workshop on how to do this technique, I am looking at making myself an apron. We were told to treat the fabric first with Alum & Soda Crystals then once dry tape the flowers in place with masking tape before hammering & hey presto the image is transferred. Apparently there is a list of other flowers that work just as well as pansies. BTW I have to say I love both of your quilts  Tisha |
