My 8 year old grandson is visiting and wanted to make a quilt for his dog. I bought a charm pack of flannel squares and showed him how to sew them together. He made the seven rows and I sewed the rows together and finished it. He is very proud and excited to give it to Miley for Christmas.

What a great activity for you two to do together. And, his smile says it all.

Cute quilt and grandson! That proud grin on his face, priceless!

Kitsie 12-24-2017 09:26 AM

I agree! The only sewing my grandson did was to try every one of the 100+ stitches my machine does! However he has helped a lot!
Really like the hand print hanging on the wall! Are those "family" hands?

quiltingshorttimer 12-24-2017 09:57 AM

absolute great! Hope while my oldest g-boy is living with other g-ma this coming semester that I manage to get him to spend a weekend and do some pillows--maybe suggest he make a quilt for his dog, too.

What a wonderful quilt for Miley. Your gradson did a fantastic job on it & I bet he's ready to make more. What a cute boy he is & looks so proud of his first quilt. Glad you had the time to teach him how to quilt & hopefully he will want to make more with you.

He's adorable and so is his quilt. You're a very lucky woman.

That is a christmas tree made from his hands at age 3.

Jingle 12-24-2017 10:11 PM

Such a nice quilt for his dog. Handsome grandson too.

jmoore 12-25-2017 04:28 AM

What a cutie pie...and what a wonderful holiday memory for you. I love to hear when kids are excited about sewing and crafts.

quilterpurpledog 12-25-2017 04:41 AM

I hope the joy he shows today continues and he will continue to enjoy quilting with you. Nice quilt for his first quilt. Using precuts is such a great idea-cuts out lots of time consuming things and gets right to the sewing.

soozieQ 12-25-2017 05:07 AM

What a wonderful memory, he is very cute!

coopah 12-25-2017 05:23 AM

What good teamwork! More lessons than just how to sew are in this quilt! Merry Christmas to you and yours...and Miley!

lindaschipper 12-25-2017 05:41 AM

You and your grandson did a wonderful job...I'm sure his dog will love it. On another note...I had a chair like the one in the photo for years (different fabric), and then decided I needed something new. Wish I had my chair back and if I ever find another one I'm buying it and will have it re-dome professionally. I miss my comfortable chair.

SusieQOH 12-25-2017 05:52 AM

Look at that proud look on his sweet face!!!!!! Oh, what a wonderful experience!
I taught all 3 of my boys how to sew. I know people thought I was crazy but boys love machines, right?
They had fun and we made special memories.
Not one of them has to ask his wife for help to mend :)

Sew Freak 12-25-2017 06:06 AM

He did a nice job!!! Both he and the quilt are too cute!!!!

topper1 12-25-2017 06:11 AM

Love them both.....great job for his best friend..forever

Homespun 12-25-2017 07:58 AM

How cute!!!!

Boston1954 12-25-2017 10:12 AM

Love the colors he used. That's terrific! Not just that he wanted to do something for his dog, but when he grows up, if he marries a lady who likes quilting, he will understand what goes into it.

patski 12-25-2017 10:34 AM

Did a great job and it so wonderful to see young men quilting

fallonquilter 12-25-2017 12:56 PM

Wow that is awesome and you can tell by the smile on his face how proud he is. And should be!!

Nesie 12-25-2017 01:55 PM

rosiewell 12-25-2017 02:39 PM
