Very pretty quilt.

I hope you make one for yourself too. Your friend will love the one you have made her. I feel like you will get much better, because you have tried several things and also, your seams really meet. Good!

Sweet quilt. Since you've already quilted around the edge, keep the quilting and no tying on this one. Your friend is going to love this. Whatever you do, don't point out the "mistakes." She won't know! Nice work!

I think it's an adorable quilt. I'm sure your friend will love it and treasure it forever because you made it especially for her.

Great job! I love the decorative machine stitches. I just don't have the patience for them!!!

I love how your quilt turned out & really like the fabric you selected. Your friend is going to love getting it from you. Don't you worry about the mistakes....everyone has a whole lot in their first quilts but as time goes by & you learn more you will find that you are making less mistakes. I have to suggest that you never point out your mistakes to anyone. If you are gifting quilts, the one who receives it will never notice them & will be so happy to get something from you that you made with love. Also, after a quilt is washed a lot of those mistakes will never, never be noticed.
Thanks for sharing pictures of your first quilt. It's a real beauty & your on your way to a great, rewarding hobby.

You could always use the same or another decorative stitch in the borders. If you don't want to do anything as labor intensive as crosshatching (which would reflect the X's stitched in the blocks), a wavy stitch down the middle will do.

yes, wavy is what I was trying to say.
Thank you JustabitCrazy :).
