Stop thinking of that quilt as a sad ending and start to think of it as an opportunity for a label as mentioned or the heart someone mentioned.
No one is ever going to look at that quilt and say that's too bad! |
Wow! Stunning! Gorgeous quilt! I love it! Sorry about that hole in the backing.
It is gorgeous quilt! Sorry about the mishap. Put the label over the hole after you repair it.
Oh .. How beautiful!!
A beautiful top. There was surely some great quilters participating in the RR. So sorry about the hole but maybe you can hand applique something over it or maybe do a fancy label over it. You did a wonderful job on the quilting, too!!
I LOVE your quilt... the colors, pattern and quilting. You have a very talented round robin group!
Your quilting is gorgeous. Beautiful quilt.
I know how disappointed you must have been when you found the hole. But it can be fixed and in no way will detract from the GORGEOUS quilt you will have - both the piecing AND quilting are wonderful! I actually think you are quite lucky - I've seen many round robins and they usually are not anywhere as nice as yours - in fact some have been quite horrible   . You must have had a great group!
The top is gorgeous!!!!
What a wonderful quilt!!
Very nice round robin!

There are so many beuitful motifes just copy one and applique it over the spot on the back that is damaged
Spectacular (rather a hole in the back than in the front)
Beautiful quilt! I hope you can fix it to your satisfaction.
Very beautiful, try to make a patch block from the front fabric and applique it over the hole. Would make it look planned.
That is just beautiful. What a great round robin quilt. Could you put a label over the hole.
It's a beautiful quilt anyway.
beautiful quilt, thanks for sharing
Your quilt is stunning.
I agree with the others. Some sort of applique to make it a conversation starter on the back over the hole would be my suggestion also. The label can be anywhere on the back you would like it to be. I have a similar situation right now. I am working though my options. This hole/tear is on the front however so I will have to be very creative.

beautiful!! it's vibrant, warm, and happy!
Sorry about the hole, but love the top - just love the various borders and your colors are awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Your quilting work is exquisite.
it is beautiful and I agree maybe a quilt label in that spot
It sounds like a good place to put a label :)
I agree with others..put an applique heart or something...or if you don't like the spot, put a few hearts on it here and there and maybe you can have each lady that worked on it sign the heart so you can remember who worked on it...
It's a beautiful quilt, label in place, just the thing! Doesn't it just want to make you cry when you find problems like that.
Wow that is beautiful! Oh that would make me cry about the hole.
Your quilt is beautiful I would applique a butterfly over the hole or quilt label if it is in a convenient place
Heartbreaking about the hole, but still gorgeous. The quilting is fantastic.
I would just sew a beautiful applique or an extra block over the hole and make it look like it was a hidden surprise! Nobody will know and you can smile at your secret.
Very Beautiful!!
How about more than one small applique? For instance a bunch of small butterflies randomly placed all over the back, then you would also have a reversible. One will never know it was to cover something, except you. |
Put your label over the hole...I make so many mistakes I can always turn it into an opportunity of some kind.
Or applique a block there or a few on the back...you can even do it raw edge! Makes it different and unique! |
beautiful, so sorry about backing, I have had similar stuff happen..............so pretty ...................
lovely quilt. sorry for the hole do you think you coud do a few star like your center on back to make a reversable quilt.
Thanks for explaining a round robin, i didn't know what that was. The quilt is very pretty, sorry about the hole.
The quilt turned out gorgeous. I'm sure you can fix that hole somehow. How about some of that fabric glue. And then, Aplique some hearts or something on the back using some of the leftover fabric used in the quilt. Use some stitch witchery to stick the hearts on. Or place blocks stragically put of course and applique them on. No one will ever know you are covering a hole. They will think it was planned that way.
