I like that alot! Looks like it would take a good while to get all those put together and then quilted!

Fabriholic 04-12-2010 07:43 PM

I am looking for the directions to make a cathedral window block on the machine. the one I need is rectangular instead of square. I did it 10 yrs ago and can't remember how I did it. Any help???

JuneBillie 06-27-2013 07:56 PM

It's beautiful! I can see why it took time, but it sure looks worth it.

Auntevie 06-27-2013 08:04 PM

WOW!!! WOW!!!...I am speechless!!!! All that time you were creating an heirloom!!

Teddybear Lady 06-27-2013 08:08 PM

It's very pretty! I have a quilt I've been "hand piecing" since 1998. I'm thinking about dragging it out and finally finishing it. I feel guilty for not finishing it when I'm working on something else. haha

sew_Tracy 06-27-2013 08:41 PM

Good for you, it's both lovely and sentimental

Raine54RN 06-27-2013 09:01 PM

Tracy, your quilt is gorgeous ! Such dedication you do awesome work!

rainsprite 06-27-2013 10:55 PM

Lovely, lovely what a wonderful piece! I haven't ever seen a design using hexagons in the manner you did in your quilt. Did you design the pattern yourself? No matter how long it took you complete, you created an heirloom treasure. I really the the colors and my only wish would be for a bigger picture.
Thank you for posting your picture.....

yolande 06-28-2013 03:25 AM

mrs. fitz 06-28-2013 09:27 AM

Beautiful! I enjoy English paper piecing but have never tried anything this complicated or large. You did a great job.

kareno 06-28-2013 09:44 AM

Wonderful quilt - lets hope the next one doesn't take quite as long!!

nanacc 06-28-2013 11:01 AM

EvelynJ 07-03-2013 05:25 PM

Girl, that is gorgeous....and I am sure your friend would be willing to wait another 9 years for her to be completed. Lovely. Congratulations.

quiltgran2 07-05-2013 02:55 PM

Faulous. The design of this GFG is quite different from any I've seen. Congratulations on the completion!

Rockie2010 03-06-2020 08:43 AM

How did you bind?

How did you bind the grandmothers flower garden?

granky 03-06-2020 09:52 AM

I'm afraid it would have taken me longer than that for a completely hand made quilt of that quality and beauty! Great job! (but do you plan on making just two quilts in your lifetime???? There are sewing machines out there, you know!)

Rose_P 03-06-2020 05:39 PM

It's beautiful - worth all the work!

midwife 03-06-2020 06:21 PM

That is amazing!

MicheleC 03-06-2020 08:47 PM

Your quilt is beautiful!! That must have been so satisfying to finish. Well done!

IrishgalfromNJ 03-06-2020 11:10 PM

Beautiful quilt. EPP is a fun technique. Glad you finished.

nanna-up-north 03-07-2020 05:30 AM

I understand why this quilt took you so long. I've made a grandmother's flower garden using the English paper piecing method so yes, they take a long time. But your design is wonderful. Love it. Congrats on the finish!

Maire 03-07-2020 08:00 AM

Beautiful!!

sylviasmom 03-07-2020 08:09 AM

Yes, I can see how it would take so long to make. It is very pretty. I have a cathedral window in progress and have working on it off and on for about 20 years. Someday I will finish it, maybe in twin size or throw size.
