I made a table topper for my youngest son and his wife. The reindeer pattern is made from their shoe and both hands. Someone, (I don't remember her name now) had posted a picture of the one she made for her daughter a bit ago. This one is from my youngest son, his wife and their baby daughter. I will have one for my older son and his family but I have to wait until his wife and daughter comes up next week to give me their shoes and hand prints. They don't know why I have asked them for the prints (or outlines I should say) I hope they will like it.

Oh my older son will not be coming up for Christmas. He is leaving Sunday the 12th for Afghanistan and will be there until end of April to the beginning of May. I would appreciate prayers for out troops. Thank you.

Cute, cute!!
And prayers go up for your son and his family and for all the guys/gals serving our country. There will be many that won't be with family for this blessed Christmas Season. Just want to say thank you to them and God Be with All.

Kitsapquilter 12-08-2010 10:16 PM

Think I will make my 2 grandkids a Christmas placemat. They are cousins so they each need their own. Something they use every year at Christmas. Thanks for sharing this cute idea. The grandkids are 8 and 4 so I am sure they would like a placemat like this.

trisha 12-08-2010 10:23 PM

sewred 12-09-2010 05:16 AM

This is what I thought of doing for present and future grandkids. The original post about this the reindeer was put on pillowcases which is a cute thought too except for the buttons.

Thank you again for those who are praying for my son, David and all of our troops. God bless.

oH cute!!!

My father in law will also be in Afghanistan for Christmas. My husband was there for Christmas '08. It is so hard to be missing loved ones over the holidays. We're celebrating Christmas early this year because my father in law is home on his R&R right now, and is going back before Christmas. My IL's are coming here Saturday to celebrate. Here's an extra {hug} for you for when you're missing your son...I know it doesn't replace a hug from his arms, but I understand how you are feeling.

quilter68 12-09-2010 06:06 AM
