These are a couple of the quilts that I have done lately.
I made the round one for my future daughter-in-law (before they got married) when I got the top done she presented me with the pattern for a quilt she wanted. I put the top away and made the one she wanted.
Made it into a baby quilt with a soft fuzzy backing.

It's called Bergellio in the round. A special wedge template I got about 8 years ago. The center was the challenge. Make a quilt and have a huge hole in the middle. What to do with the hole? How to fill it?

It's funny you should post this picture today! Yesterday, I noticed your avatar and printed it out to use as inspiration to use in a quilt I plan to make with the Hickory Nuts template. Your quilts are beautiful and different--luv em!

grandma Janice 04-03-2010 07:59 AM

how do you do you Hexi's? I made a grandmother's garden for my son and his wife a long time ago and I used the old English method, using papers. I tried it both ways and that's the only way I can get it straight.

hexagonquilter 04-03-2010 08:14 AM

I have a number of Hexagon templates that I can use. I cut out the shapes, plan the layout, then just hand stitch each hexagon together. This is the first quilt that I made that is an expanded circle. Most of the time they are a cluster of 6 with a center, then make the next cluster. When enough clusters are made then sew together each of them to make the quilt top.

Beautiful quilts, love the first one. You have a lot of patience to put together all those hexagons in that little time.
