My absolutely wonderful husband made my life long dream come true by making me my own "SeWHut". It's a 12 x 20 metal building he "fixed up" inside. It even has a small porch on the front. I moved in today (1/2/10)

All the storage I could ask for

Yeah! I hunt too!

That is just the nicest place I can think of!!!
I showed it to hubby immediately, (interrupted Perry Mason in fact!)
Your hubby is so sweet!
So, I am showing him the sign that hubby made you with the hut's name, with a pair or antlers (then, as I was admiring it all again, I noticed that those were YOUR antlers! Good job!)
Anyway, I think your husband is the MOST, greatest, fantasticist fella a gal could ever hope for.
It is quite clear that he enjoyed what he was doing
and, I didn't miss the television in the corner, either <g> ... I told hubby "What's wrong with us quilters that we think we have to have a television on while we work?"
Then, I realized that between radio talk shows and my Fox News, I was actually just keeping an eye on the world ... LOL We are helping keep spinning LEVEL! ;-)

joeyoz 01-02-2010 06:49 PM

That is so awesome. What a wonderful husband you have. He's a keeper. LOL

Now you can lock yourself in there and be creative. We should start seeing pics soon of your quilts, right? LOL

Congrats on the new sewing hut.

lavandula girl 01-02-2010 06:53 PM

Where's the cot, for when you collapse from sewing exhaustion?! Seriously, I am completely green with jealousy. Your husband is awesome.

bluebird 01-02-2010 06:53 PM

Oh, MawMaw, I'm green with envy   What a wonderful place to be able to get out and sew. Is my desire to have a small room with lots of windows and a bathroom  Really don't ask for much. Your sewhut is wonderful. Welcome from MO

What a cool area for you. Great hubby. He's a keeper.

Quiltin'Lady 01-02-2010 08:45 PM

Looks super! Now you just need a "design wall" space under your cute sign!

Aren't clever husbands the best?!?

Leota 01-02-2010 09:20 PM

Nice...
I've asked my dh for my own quilters cave....except I want the windows to be in the roof..that way, I can put shelves to the ceiling all the way around and not block the light source :D

I noticed your plug in heater, and know that it is a small one ... but thought you might consider one of these. We have two in the bunkhouse, running on 110 - - keep more even heat than the wall heaters we started with, AND! Not hot to the touch!
It takes up very little space, but my it is a good heater (remembering the times I have backed into one like yours with bare legs <g> and feeling either hot or cold, but NEVER really warm) of course, I don't remember where you are located, so you may not need such a heater, but I wanted you to know about it ... the cat loves sleeping on ours, when I don't have the paper file or quilt box there!

Janstar 01-02-2010 09:44 PM

You do have a very thoughtful and loving husband to do this and it is very well done. You have it looking so cute too. But remember this is not just your sewing hut it is your Studio........ remember you are an artist of quilts.
