My dh stopped at the thrift store this morning; came home later and said there was a sewing machine there. He didn't know much about it but he had taken a picture on his phone. Hmmm, looks kind of like a featherweight. Off I go to check it out and it was a featherweight 221. Lucky lil sewing machine has a new home with someone to love it. I cleaned it; oiled it; and it runs like a champ. Case is in need of some repair, but there are lots of attachments with it and the original manual. Monday was my birthday so this is my present to myself. :lol: :lol:

Oh I went off to a funeral this morning and then stopped off to get something to eat. While looking out windown saw a Thrift shop sign, so thought you never know. BUT nothing in the line of sewing machines....Darn managed to get several books to read anyhow. I don't know why I would want one like the one you found but its like a piece of gold on here that everyone wants to find....Where are you little machine, come to me slowly I will find you.

Wow! At a thrift store??? Did you get a good deal? She looks very nice! How old? I bought myself a centennial model for my b-day this year (it was from my DH, but he doesn't know how to ebay). Isn't she a great little machine??

Thanks for all the Happy Birthdays and nice comments. Yep, hubby and the machine are both keepers. I will have to say it is probably one of the nicest things I ever found at the thrift store. If I had been a few minutes later, it would probably have been gone. A man came in about the same time I did and he was looking over my shoulder. "Are you gonna buy it?" Yep, I think I will. You just never know what you are gonna find. :lol:

I have been wanting one of these for many years. Never run across one in all my plundering tho.
I've seen some at a quilt store for appr. $400.00 but can't bring myself to spend that much. You hit the jack pot with this one. |

I got another one yesterday I bought from a friend, I have not opened the package yet. the first one has been serviced and the plug replaced, as it was missing when I bought it. I will probably sell the first one and keep this one. |
