WOW!! To have that much stash is great. I would never need to go shopping. LOL Enjoy your shopping in the stash.

good work - looks terrific

Most of the fabrics on the 11 3/4 inch boards are 2 yard cuts. The small ones have a yard and some have half and fat quarters. I have lots of long quarters to which I am going to fold and just lay flat. The the bolts on the bottom are six yards or more. They are for backings. I used the bolts from the store. I have two more book cases to fill but I am almost out of coroplast. Guess I need another box of that too. I hate to put the doors on cause I love looking at all the colors.

Great job. Looks great!!!
Happy quilting, Kutnso |
I just got some boards that Walmart was going to throw away. Now I just have to save enough for all of my stash!
Man oh Man!!! Wish you livrd next door to me. i need some organization skills.
If you don't have a lot of space......the boards that the fabric comes on take up almost an inch of space on your shelf. I did mine like that and wound up taking them all off. I use an 8 1/2 by 20 ruler, wrap it around then fold in middle and lay flat. Gave me so much more room. I fold my half yards and fat quarters a different way to fit the shelves I have which are cd shelves. Not very deep but serves the purpose. I am rearranging right now and if I ever get finished will post a photo. Regards

Looks great and you can see everything with out hunting in bins

That's not a stash, that's an in house fabric store! I'd love to have something like that, unfortunately I never will. But I do have another love of my life, my husband and I are raising an 11 year old granddaughter since birth. My "stash and goodies" money goes to raising her. Mommy and Daddy aren't in her life, we don't even know where they are. We do know one in in one state and the other in another state. I just buy as needed but having her in our life, even though we're retired, is the greatest joy in our life. Wouldn't trade her for all the fabric I could have. That's great that you're so blessed.

awesome. I could only dream.
Great sewing room......Love the way that you have your fabrics all nicely organized...that is super!!!
Great job!! I love an organized space. Makes it sooooooooooo much easier to find what you're looking for. I have been working on my space also. When I had no more room to put fabric in my closet, I knew it was time to refold and purge!!!
Oh my, that is fantastic!!! You did an amazing job. So envious :-)
I am soooo jealous wish my fabric was that organized what kind of boards did you use in the center of your fabric
My first words: "OH MY GOSH!" Beautiful arrangement. Love all that fabric!
Oh my, I would be dead before I ever could finish, so much fabric and so little time. You did a very nice job.Kudos to you
Yeah me too crafty. I had to stop so I could get some sewing in. I do spend tons of time out there and after it gets a little more organized i'll take more photos. My boards are corogated plastic.(plastic cardboard)
Beautiful! I appreciate an organized work area. You are at the top of the list.
looks great! If he wants to build or put up more shelves let him! A woman can never have enough room to store fabric or sewing items.
I am SO JEALOUS!! That is amazing!
What a wonderful selection of fabric. Great job
Are you sure that's just stash? Looks like a fabric store to me. Love it. Wish it were me.
Your room looks fantastic! :!: I am so impressed and am inspired! I hope to clean and organize this summer! :P What a fun place to sew!
Beautiful! May we see the rest of your sewing area sometime? You look so organized!
Wow! nice quilt shop, when can we all come shopping?
A great stash! Looks like its time to get some quilts made.
Tebill. I am the last person to be organized at anything. In fact I have to be the most unorganized of anyone i know. I have decided to get things in order when i saw the tutorial that alaskasunshine posted on the board I knew I had to get started. Then i visited the fly lady and she told how to get your house in order. its a work in progress..
Well, you're off to a good start in organizing that sewing room! It looks fantastic!
I've seen quilt shops that aren't that nice. Wonderful job!
Just wish I had room for that many bookshelves
WOW! Your store is great! It is a store, right?

That's not a stash..that's a store!!! LOL A quilters dream! Just walking in the room would be an inspiration. Good for you and WELL DONE!

Don't forget about the possibility of fading if you have direct sunlight in your room. I used to keep my fabric out like that and after a while noticed the edge to the light was somewhat faded. I love the looks of having it like this, much better than in my closet. When we get home this spring I'm going to use your technique for storing in the closet.
Good job. Your stash looks great. It makes you feel like you have your own personal quilt shop. Don't you love everything being organized.
