That is absolutely amazing!! What a beautiful job you did on your DJ quilt! I'm blown away at the amount of time you finished it in!! Fabulous job!!!!

I love it, especially the center block. I understand your son is an Aggie, but where is a block of a LongHorn, you have other pics that relate to this great state, but no long horn, not necessarily UT long horn. My neice and her hubby are Aggie graduates. I'm a UT grad. but love all things pertaining to Tx. in general. I love the Tx. touch you gave this quilt. Gerbie

Gerbie, my Grandson is an Aggie thus the A&M logo. He said if I put a longhorn on it he would dehorn it personally. They love to egg-on the rivalry! (I did have a longhorn cut out but had too much trouble with the machine applique on the ends of the horns so it was either I omit it or dehorn it myself. Ironic thing is we have longhorn cattle on our farm. (The beef doesn't taste like a UT longhorn, tho.)
Just an aside, I lived in Ft Stockton back in the late 60-early 70. Love the area still. Have to visit Big Bend every couple of years.

O my goodness, what a wonderful quilt.

Your quilt is absolutely wonderful. I don't know if I could work on something for 5 months. I get too distracted with other ideas. Good for you.

I understand the rivalary well. I have lived in Pecos since 1970. My DH and I met while working at the Duval plant between Imperial and Stockton, and were both transferred to Pecos. We married in 70. He came in 69 and I was transferred in 70 when they closed the plant there. I grew up in McCamey and he in Alpine. I love this part of Tx. Lived in Ky. for 2 yrs and W. Va. for 7, (I hated every day I was there), and finally got back home. My dad was in the oil & gas business when we lived in Ky. and W. Va.

If your sisters do as beautiful work as you, we would dearly love to see their work too.

Ohhhh My Goodness! What an amazing, beautiful, gorgeous quilt. Color me ever color of impressed there is. You did a fabulous job. Thank You so much for sharing. As for the quilting, I've been looking at the pics & I don't have a clue. I keep saying to myself, "Don't take away from the beautiful blocks & the piecing." Anxious to see what you decide.
