Must be getting ready for the gift giving season..
I started this quilt when my sister found out she was pregnant..That was 2001 :oops: :oops: Ben is now 9 and i finished it this summer. I put it in the mail this morning to her. She thinks i forgot it and has no idea it's on its way. My mom flew down there today and will get to see my sister open it up. I planned it that way all along!! :lol: Yup - that's my story and i'm sticking to it!! she's asked me about it periodically, but it has been a long time....She has a habit of letting a box sit there for a while before opening it....I wrote a note on the box that said "Open NOW please" ;)
btw - that is machine pieced, but hand quilted. I did use poly batting in that (it was my very first quilt), but now i use cotton batting and prefer it. |

Your hand quilting is wonderful. Do you have a large quilting frame or a small lap one? Please let us know her reaction when you hear about it. Great job...and he will love it perhaps more now than earlier.

I'm sure your sister will be thrilled to get this! What a labor of love with the beautiful handquilting! You may, however owe your nephew another quilt - maybe machine quilted this time-lol. One with a slightly more grown-up feel for the grown-up young man he is now.
