I put the finishing touches on this Disappearing Nine Patch today. I made the blocks when we were on vacation and DH was fishing. I used squares I had cut from scraps. It is a mish mash of all kinds of fabric patterns. The only sane thing about it is the batting and you can't even see it! I did FMQ and didn't correst the tension, so that is messed up. Sigh! I'll bet a lot of you out there hae ugly quilts too. Let's see them! C'Mon, be brave and help me to feel better. :-D

Sadiemae 10-29-2010 04:17 PM

If you consider this your ugliest I am not posting mine!!!

NikkiLu 10-29-2010 04:18 PM

I don't think it is a bit ugly! After it is washed, it will "draw up" and everything will be fine!

earlylace 10-29-2010 04:18 PM

very colorful, I do like it!

Ditter43 10-29-2010 04:29 PM

GrandmaJeanne 10-29-2010 04:32 PM

What's wrong with this? It's scrappy and I like scrappy.

pojo 10-29-2010 04:32 PM

magpie 10-29-2010 04:52 PM

littlehud 10-29-2010 04:56 PM

That quilt is just fine. I love the reds in it. Not ugly at all.

luv-e 10-29-2010 05:00 PM

Scrappy is NEVER ugly. Too hard on yourself.
Quilt Police need to give you a "back off "yourself ticket lol lol lol lol lol lol..................................
I like it!!!

wolph33 10-29-2010 05:03 PM

Chele 10-29-2010 05:08 PM

You're going to have to try a little harder for an ugly. That's a cute quilt. Back to the drawing board.

i don't think it's ugly either - but it is amazing how stuff in a quilt comes together and looks beautiful..

I do have a candidate for the ugliest quilt though....I bought this at a garage sale. It is the warmest thing to lay under on a cold winters day!!! It is made of corduroy, old blanket, wool, men's suiting...The backing is flannel - very worn out flannel

The resident project mgr doing her job!!

Look how they gathered the edges around a couple pieces

judee

nativetexan 10-29-2010 05:27 PM

hey, if it's warm -it's warm. you can always put something pretty over it. no one's going to look at what you use. i don't have pretty quilts on my bed either. i have three cats!! that's why. so keep it hon.

SueDor 10-29-2010 05:33 PM

I agree, its not ugly at all!

needles3thread 10-29-2010 05:41 PM

Native Texan, I really like the green print fabric with the
white borders! I am a 'green lover'.

DebraK 10-29-2010 05:43 PM

can't wait to see the pretty ones ;-)

sueisallaboutquilts 10-29-2010 07:38 PM

I must be quilt blind b/c I see beauty in all quilts. The last one is a bit wonky but I still love it :D
And the others on this thread are pretty!!!
I've seen ugly fabrics now and then but not ugly quilts :D:D:D

cjomomma 10-29-2010 07:53 PM

This is not ugly!! If you think this ugly then your pretty quilts must be georgious.

Quiltforme 10-29-2010 08:22 PM

Ok I admit I had an ugly quilt and I gave it away to someone I didn't know and still feel guilty about it today.

KCK 10-29-2010 08:24 PM

I love scrappy and its a great quilt!

Pickles 10-29-2010 08:40 PM

Well I like them all and it's art no matter how it's made are put together, but I see nothing wrong are ugly about your scrappy
it's down right cute and bright and cheerful to boot. :-D

Toto's Mom 10-29-2010 08:46 PM

Well, I can't make you feel better if you need to hear that quilt is ugly.
I think it is a pretty, cozy quilt, and not ugly at ALL!!!!
You are being too tough on yourself!

Halo 10-29-2010 11:35 PM

117becca, it looks like the wonky blocks may be wool that shrunk when washed instead of the blocks around it being gathered. You could replace those blocks with ease.
Judee, your quilt is wonderful. Don't understand why you don't like it.

FortMyers 10-30-2010 02:10 AM

In am sure any one here would take that "ugly" quilt off your hands, I also believe that it is gorgous, and a good spin in the washer and dryer will make it even better.

quilt3311 10-30-2010 04:38 AM

I don't think I would classify that as "ugly". Neat use of scraps.

Kathy-Pgh 10-30-2010 04:48 AM

I think it is quite unique. Really epitomizes the original reason for quilting. Great job.

Marilyn1 10-30-2010 04:54 AM

No quilt is ugly. It is made with love.

sewnsewer2 10-30-2010 05:39 AM

I don't think it is ugly either!
