I found this awesome quilt at a yard sale today for 15.00, it's really pretty. Someone made it for her and not the right colors.

isnt that sad, someone took all that time and then its not liked or enjoyed, just because of colors , they should have realized all the work and loved it. Great Find!!!

blueangel 09-17-2011 06:28 AM

Oh I agree, I thing it's beautiful, all hand tied.

kriscraft99 09-17-2011 06:28 AM

oh my goodness! great find for you but so sad somebody put that much time into it just for her and because it was the wrong colors, she sells it. She could have always used it as a picnic blanket or something.. I'm glad it is with you now since you will appreciate it more.

rgbear 09-17-2011 06:28 AM

very nice find

QuiltE 09-17-2011 06:47 AM

Lucky for you ... it is lovely.

And such a ♥break for the maker.

Wouldn't you just love to be able to find that person and give it back to her?

Oh my goodness ...... just thought about this ...... wouldn't it be amazing if that person were to be posting here on the Board and could say, I made that!!!!!!!!! :)

gigi4419 09-17-2011 06:51 AM

Nice find!

That would be cool!! Funny how hand made items are not wanted by so many, they rather have store brought. I just love hand made items.

Good to know the quilt now has a loving new home where it will be appreciated.

katieranch 09-17-2011 07:04 AM

$15.00...great find for you. The seller sure didn't think much of the gift, that breaks my heart, so much work for an ungrateful person.

Sandee 09-17-2011 07:09 AM

Nice find!!

Lacelady 09-17-2011 07:10 AM

If it had been me, I would have decorated to match the quilt!

PegD 09-17-2011 07:16 AM

How could you not love it. It is beautiful.

mommamac 09-17-2011 07:23 AM

what's not to like about these colors? don't people know all quilts don't have to be on a bed? folded on a shelf or rack & it'll sparkle up any room ~ enjoy!

quiltgran2 09-17-2011 08:35 AM

Great find!

Willa 09-17-2011 08:41 AM

Pretty comforter! Their loss your gain.

RedGarnet222 09-17-2011 08:43 AM

Is she crazy?? A quilt doesn't have to match anything. It is a labor of love. I know she will regret this years down the road.

But, her loss is your gain. Right?

grammiepamie 09-17-2011 08:53 AM

It is sad that she didn't take her friends gift to heart. Glad it has a loving home now tho. It is a very nice quilt.

sewmuchmore 09-17-2011 09:02 AM

The quilt found a loving home and that is what is important.

quiltedlamb07 09-17-2011 09:11 AM

Great find! pretty colors too.

QUILTNMO 09-17-2011 09:11 AM

what a great find

SUZAG 09-17-2011 09:40 AM

How could it not be the wrong colors? They are all in there! Beautiful, glad you rescued it!

crafty pat 09-17-2011 10:33 AM

What a great find. Beautiful quilt her loss is your gain.

Painiacs 09-17-2011 10:53 AM

Glad u s
Adopted it!!

buddy'smom 09-17-2011 10:55 AM

Thanks everyone, I just love it.

Carron 09-17-2011 10:56 AM

How COLD is that to get rid of the quilt because of the colors. That person probably has no idea the labor involved in making a quilt and the wonderful goodness of the givers heart.

But with the said, luck for you!

VaNella 09-17-2011 10:58 AM

That's a great quilt! No accounting for taste. But it is in the right hands now!

mcdaniel023 09-18-2011 02:56 AM

That is a beautiful quilt. It didn't have to go on a bed. It could have been a tv quilt, a picnic quilt....ahhh they just don't get the work or love involved in a gift like that.

Yooper32 09-18-2011 03:32 AM

Glad it found a good home where it will be appreciated.

ljptexas 09-18-2011 03:51 AM

WO!!! What a find. A true treasure. What is trash to some its treasure to others...They just do get it!!!!!

  ;) ;)

DirtyPaw 09-18-2011 04:38 AM

Great find for you but sad that something made for the seller didn't mean anything.

dinlauren 09-18-2011 04:58 AM

I agree. It's a shame she didn't appreciate it for all the work and love that went into it. I would also have used it for a picnic blanket or under the bedspread or other quilt for warmth. But glad it found a good home.

bisseau 09-18-2011 05:00 AM

Lucky you!!

Dortha 09-18-2011 05:12 AM

That reason has never made sense to me...are they going to keep their present color scheme for the rest of their lives? KEEP the quilt, those colors may be just what you want in the future.

cjaye44 09-18-2011 05:19 AM

The intended recipient may not have liked it but at least it has a good home now!

grannyp70 09-18-2011 05:50 AM

Great find, love the colors in this one.

Wanabee Quiltin 09-18-2011 06:15 AM

Reminds me when I first started quilting. A lady at the campground had worked for months on a baby guilt for the 1st great grandchild. When baby was born, she sent it off. About 3 months later she made the trip to visit the baby. Laying on the floor on the baby quilt was the family dog. She about had a heart attack. The mother said she had received so many blankets, she thought the dog would like this one. Another lady made her daughter a beautiful quilt, worked months on it and it cost a fortune. Her daughter needed to give a gift at a wedding so she took this beautiful quilt her mother had made for her and gave it away. That's how you find quilts at yard sales or at Goodwill. Which I have bought many times.

Neena 09-18-2011 06:17 AM

Nice find!..."right colors"?...looks like perfect colors to me!
