area where I share with dh and his machines & cutting table. The area where I work (cannot have my back to the room, to many years in a school room) with pressing, sewing and cutting area. My FWSQ stash; more of "our" stash; unfinished UFOs, dh area of cutting and sewing plus bookcases of quilt books, and closet full of boxes in two rooms not shown...do I qualify for the SABLE club??

Man!! I would have a wonderful time going through that stash. I saw a bucket up there that said bird fabric. I love bird fabric. If you ever want to sell some let me know.

Scraps from quilting so into the boxes...dark, medium and light. A friend loves to go through them and make blocks out of the scraps for charity quilts.

Beautiful stash, looks like you need separate rooms.

OMG, I have that exact same sewing table your hubby's machine is on! I bought it at JC Penny's about 35 years ago!
It is set up in my sewing room with an extra machine on it. I use a 6 ft heavy duty banquet table now adays since my machine has a plexiglass extension. This is the only other one that I have seen!

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a massive stash. Need to share this with my DH too.

I would love to visit and sew in a room like that. I sew every day. I too have bookcases full of quilting books. I have so many and read so many times I can find a pattern so fast. LOL I think it great he shares your love of sewing. I will look up the farmers wife block as I do not know this one.

Its a QB group FWSQ that has completed the 111 blocks this week in BOM section. Laurie Asron Hird produced the book The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt that we followed. I never would have finished without the encouragement of Anne and the others who published their blocks here every Wednesday. Through trial and err, I have finished the blocks, now to complete the sashings and king sized quilt. Many have posted on the QB BOM site. All are so beautiful; its impossible for me to chose a favorite one.

I would feel right at home except my husband doesnt sew (I wish he did) Now I don't feel so badly that my room is so "well loved". I like that expression.

Yep, I'd like to help go through all of that stash too. Mine is a baby stash next to yours. So nice that you & DH share the space.

I don't know how I would feel about sharing my sewing room with my hubby. He does help me when I need him to but I kind of feel like this is my space and I am not ready to share it. After 45 years of marriage and raising two girls and a boy, its OUR famly, OUR money, and OUR sewing room and OUR stash. He does ask before he uses any thing in case I have mentally planned a project. We talk over major purchases before we spend the money. There is only so many $$$ in retirement; not enough to argue over.

Thanks for sharing. That makes me feel a little better about the condition my sewing room is in.

How wonderful to share a love of sewing with DH! I think it is awesome! Lots of space and a huge stash!

Love your room and I think you can put $200 away every time that you finnish a quilt from those fabrics. A quilt shop touring vacation would then be in order. Travel and fabric shopping - nothing better.

Wow! I would have a hard time starting any projects until I got organized in there. I am sure you know where everything is though. How awesome you can share teh same space and all.

I must say that I loved all your "ours". So many of the young couples (and some in the middle) now seem to say "my money" and "his ( her) money". I cannot understand that for some reason. I thought marriage was a union. My DH and I have money in each of our pockets (kind of an allowance) each week but the rest is "ours" and we decide how and when to spend it. I am not sure I could do this any other way. Of course we do have our own rooms now that the kids are gone but they are not off limits to either of us. Your comment was refreshing!!!
