That is beautiful. She will love it and you for taking the time and patience to make this wonderful quilt.

What a beautiful job you've done. How do you do the birds? Do you cut them off a fabric? or you applique the differnt fabrics? They are perfect!

She will really enjoy this for sure.  My MIL was in NH. one suggestion; put a name on it, so no one will take it. My MIL things were stollen when she pasted away!!!! it was awful!! Don't ever want that to happen to anyone, again. And yes, put her name on it. Not on the back, where it can be hidden, but on the front. My Mom was in a nursing home for 2 yrs., and nobody even waited for her to pass away to steal her things. I did her painted and appliqued sweats to wear....even painted her name down the arm of the sweatshirts, and down the leg of the pants, and they STILL all disappeared. Even the collage of family photos I had done for her disappeared. After much searching, a nurse found the photos loose in a drawer at the desk. Someone had stolen the frame. |
Nice gesture for your friend. It reminds me of O'Henry's story of "The Last Leaf". I am inspired to make a pictorial quilt. Thanks for posting.
