Well, I can't say that I'm READY to show mine, but it may help others who try their hand at a Bargello.... I think (I hope!) I learned some things about fabric selection. As you'll see, there are a few fabrics that I should not have used, they don't flow well. But until I tried it, I couldn't really see it. This is part of a quilt called "Free Falling" from the Oct. 09 Quilter's World Magazine. There will be maple leaves on top and one side and I am using a cocoa brown border ... I think. The leaves are made from 9 of the fabrics from the Bargello. My next one will be better! :-) |
It makes me happy just to look at it! Great colors and great job. Can't wait to see the borders.

Wow, that is going to be one stunning quilt, keep us posted.

Oh my graciousness, what a gorgeous quilt. Can't wait to see it all the way finished. You do such wonderful work.

Nice!! OK, I'm convinced quilting is, in fact, giving me OCD. I'm thinking that A Trip Around the World quilts are very similar to the bargello quilts, right? Would the difference only be that the bargello are cut in different widths and laid out a bit differently?
I recall years ago a friend of mine had attempted a Trip Around The World quilt for her first one, and she had to pick out like 20 different fabrics. I don't think she ever finished it, and we've lost touch since. I'm currently working on a Lover's Knot quilt (with really BRIGHT colors for my 10-year-old daughter), and I'd love to find something totally different for my next project. |
Beautiful - I just cannot get my mind to thinking how this is done. - Cynthia
