Karla OMG!!! This quilt literally took my breath away! I have decided a Bargello it is!! Thank you for your inspiration. I have about half the fabrics in my stash. Now for the pattern. I need a bed size quilt. This is just stunning. Makes my heart go pitter patter.

Just found Clotilde has a great deal on bargello quilt download. Normally $14.95, now only $6.98 & 50 pages (download only).

If anyone else is interested in this type of quilt, here's the link: http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?...tiful+Bargello

They have both beginner and advanced projects (7 total).

Figured I'd share in case anyone else was intersted.

Well, I can't say that I'm READY to show mine, but it may help others who try their hand at a Bargello....
I think (I hope!) I learned some things about fabric selection. As you'll see, there are a few fabrics that I should not have used, they don't flow well. But until I tried it, I couldn't really see it. This is part of a quilt called "Free Falling" from the Oct. 09 Quilter's World Magazine. There will be maple leaves on top and one side and I am using a cocoa brown border ... I think. The leaves are made from 9 of the fabrics from the Bargello. My next one will be better! :-)

I love this one!! It's the perfect backdrop for a scene--I see barns and trees and horses... I love your colors! The yelllow glows warmly! :-D How big is it?

Me too! I want to take it to school tomorrow to show my students--it'll be a brief math lesson. I'll decide on borders this week--I think two will be plenty!
