This is not what I imagined it would turn out to be and I know now what I did wrong. I used way too many prints and I just mixed them all up. Can anyone tell it's a disappearing nine patch? Anyway... It's off to my quilter and she'll preform magic and put a red binding on it. I just made it lap size since I wasn't thrilled with it. Does that happen with anyone else once they start working on a quilt?

I'm kind of liking the crazyness of it. I don't think it's bad at all.
I'm sorry you are disappointed with it, but I love it. I knew instantly that it was a D9P. I think its awesome, I love the various black and white fabrics with the pops of red. Great job, can't wait to see it quilted.
It is beautiful. The work is excellent. Where it might not be our most favorite, there will be those who choose it over others.
I think it's beautiful! Sorry your not happy with it.
I thinks it's nice...some times we r hard on ourselves....its ok,,i do it all the time lol
i think it turned out very nice cant wait to see it quilted and binded the red binding will really make it pop i just love the BWR together
I think quilting it with red thread would really make it pop. I like it.
Yes, a busy quilt but very nice. Once when I was unhappy with my quilt's patterns, I tore off the outside border and put in a two inch solid black sashing and then pieced more border fabric. It framed the center from the outside border and calmed everything down.
Yes, It has happened to me. Maybe, someone else will LOVE it and you can give it to them.
I got rid of mine..After quilting, I still did not like it. So, it was my fabric ??? Anyway, someone else is loving it! |
I actually really like it :) I think it's fine
I knew that it was D9P. Leave it a week and then you will love it.
I just love it! making something similar for grandson for X-mass and these are the colors he chose
I think it's beautiful! Wait until it comes back from the quilter and get the binding on. I'm sure it will grow on you.
Ohhhh I love it...I love the colors..if you need a home for it :)
I am not one for "wilder" quilts usually but I must say, I REALLY like this! Whatever you did works so well. If you don't like it, someone will! :-D
I like it....the red gave it a POP look to it and break up all that b/w colors. Very nice work!
Don't beat yourself up! It still is a nice quilt.
Well, "I" like it, even if you don't. Looking at it holds my interest for a long time. And anything with black, white, and red can't be bad!!! It's unique and being a newbie I don't know or care what a D9P is anyway, so non-quilters will be thrilled to own this.
I like it!
It is indeed a bit too busy for me... so I know where you are coming from.
Someone I used to sew with and I started making tree skirts - and had about 4 prints... and put them together and man oh man it is hideous. It is still in the ufo box. I am sure others would love it but it was too countrified for me. I might finish it and put it for sale on Etsy one of these days... I do want to start selling some things other than my crochet patterns on Etsy. It's just a matter of getting started lol. Anyhoooo. I'm sure that someone will absolutely love that quilt. You will find a home for it :) |
Sorry you don't like it. So just send it my way!
I really like it. I'm also doing a D9P that has the crazy patchwork look to it. I love the look and think it's great!
I like it also. Its like abstract art.
Get happy, you have got a great quilt.
I don't know what a D9P is suppose to look like, but I like this. I thing the red binding is really going to make this quilt complete. I'm sorry you're not happy, after all your work. I like it alot though. Would you like my address? :-)
I think it is beautiful. Many times when I am making something I'm not liking it until it is finished. I think once it is quilted you will be loving it. LOL in Christ, Happy Stitchin

For example I really do not like old fashioned colors and fabrics. I am making an Underground Railroad Sampler and I am using all Fall colors, because there is just no way I can make a whole quilt with the dull colors of the time. Many people like those colors, but I just don't. I made a sampler for one of my classes I taught. I used some of what I would call traditional colors and flowers. I have never liked it from day and I won't ever like it. Most people who see it have wonderful comments, the color just isn't what I like. I am glad you made me remember that quilt, when I find it I think I will give it away. |
I love it. It has a lot of life and movement!
I recognized it right away! I like to stretch myself and then wait until something grows on me. I like it!
I like it alot. In fact it's the first black/white/red quilt that I've taken a shine to. So far the combination has left me cold. I think you may feel differently about it when it comes back from the quilter. Sometimes I find I get a little stir-crazy looking at busy-ness up close while piecing, but once you see it in context (not 4 inches from your nose LOL) you may appreciate it more. Thanks for posting; I'm glad to have my mind opened up about this colour combo!
It is busy and no I can't pick out the pattern, but it is still a great quilt! Good job!
I knew right away it was a d9p. I made one with 6 prints and I LOVE it when someone cannot figure out how I did something. By making it so random you gave it mystery. If you wanted the same old thing, you could have done a traditional 9 patch. But then who would say "How in the world did she do that?" The beauty of this pattern is that it looks so complicated once you get the 9 patches sewn together.
I really like it too!
I love it too! I like wild or loud, bright colors!!
I love your quilt!!!!
I thinik it's great, It makes you want to find the patterns in it so you look at it a little longer instead of Just glancing at it and walking away. And thats A compliment I'd think.
I knew right away that its a D9P, and I think its pretty, I like all the different fabrics. I hope you like it better after you have it quilted.
It is a little busy but I like it!
