she probably said, oh well, it's for charity, who cares?!
glad my name aint Charity, I'd be mad!
If that's not a slap in the face I don't know what would be. You should stick here with your friends and let them have each other.

I'm sorry for you because I know it had to hurt too.

You made the quilt for the right reasons and your part was beautiful. I don't think I would go there to ask what the hay either. Sometimes you just have to say no accounting for taste and leave it at that. Someone will still cherish it and see all the love you put into it. :) :) :) :)

Your quilt is beautiful. If she'd finished it, it would be even more beautiful! Maybe she's dyslexic??? Or maybe just stupid....

I would be upset too... :(

pocoellie 05-19-2008 12:10 PM

I can't believe anyone could do that. It is a beautiful quilt though, and I certainly wouldn't have anything more to do with that group. Maybe it's a good idea though, that your name isn't mentioned, that way, no one asks you what you were thinking.

You know what I'm thinking? It looks shoddy. It looks like someone couldn't be bothered to do a proper job. The strip on one side offsets the center and it's just awful what she did to your quilt.

There's NO excuse for that one strip. You did the right thing in telling those ladies off. I wouldn't sew a single thing for them after that. That is so inexcusable, it isn't even fit to give to charity the way she altered it.

the answer is clear. the poor woman had obviously dived face-first into a big bowl of super-spiked after xmas eggnog. about 3 times a day for every day in the week before she added that strip.

she's probably still suffering the hangover. (well ... we can hope she is, anyway.   )

I think your quilt is beautiful :D For whatever reason that woman did this to your quilt, I hope the quilt police come and get her soon! :x :x :x
