Thanks to a tutorial by Cutie. I jumped in the OBW pool. Way easier than I thought. Will post pictures when I finish getting it sewn together.

Too cool!! I tried it, but my fabric was a bad choice so now I'm searching for better fabric! ;)

That quilt is going to look so awesome!! I'll be anxiously awaiting the pictures of the finished project!! My 11 year old niece is a horse fanatic and would absolutely LOVE the fabric you chose! Who is the manufacturer and/or designer and the name of the design? I would like to locate some to make a quilt for her.
I like the idea you have of placing your blocks on individual paper plates. I'll have to steal that one!!! :D |
Well done!
|
wow, beautiful fabric and thanks for taking a picture of the fabric before cutting and showing it cut up, I can't wait to see the finished quilt
Thanks again! |
Awesome!! Love those blocks :D:D:D
|
Very pretty blocks. I want to try one of these soon.
|
Lovely!

Looking at the plates makes me hungry, sorry!
Somehow they remind me of pies, yummy. I would like to see the quilt done too, it looks great so far. |
That is a great tip --- using separate paper plates for each block. Sure it could be used for other blocks but how creative. Thanks

Wow. I have got to jump in with you. I like the idea of the paper plates. Good way to keep them corraled, so to speak!
|
Wow, that's coming out great! When I saw the fabric, I wasn't sure how it would be, but it is fabulous!!!
|
wow never thought that would look so cool

Those are nice!! How did you do them and what does OBW mean please?
sass |

Cool blocks
|
Awesome!!!! Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

That is wonderful so far. Your quilt is going to drop jaws when it is finished!!!! Are you going to keep a little bit of the fabric in it...maybe on the back?
|
Very nice, I would like to see it finished.
|
The blocks are great. Hard to believe that they came from that fabric. Really like the paper plate idea. Must remember that.

Looks great so far! Can't wait to see it completed!

Looking good  I think the paper plates were amma's idea :-D
|
I'm surprised how well your fabric turns into creative hexagons. You are off to a good start.
I started too, unfortunately I picked a paisley print that I loved and it just isn't working out. |
I am totally addicted to this (OBW) process. I have my fabric and the OBW book and hopefully I will have time to start cutting tomorrow. I love the paper plate idea too. Please keep us updated as this beautiful creation is "born". Great fabric by the way!
|
Those look great!
|
Very Pretty, it is so amazing how it turns out.

I've never done one but they totally amaze me!!
Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D |
I just finished going through Cutie's tute also and will be starting one as soon as my fabric arrives...can hardly wait. Yours is looking fabulous!

I am going to try one of these someday. Love it.

One of these days I'm gonna try OBW!

Dahhhhh (on me). I looked at the photos, read the post and
looked at the photos again. I was glued in on the blocks and didn't see the paper plates. I read the post again, looked at the photos and bingo! There were the paper plates. So funny. The plates are a great idea and I will remember to use them when I learn the OBW= One Block Wonder. Thank you for the work in progress photos. The whole piece of fabric is excellent by itself. Your blocks are awesome. I copied and pasted them onto my desktop so I could enlarge them. Would you be willing to take a photo of each single block for us? Stand over the top of it so you can give the members all of the detail in each block? I know it will be a lot of work for you but if you will/can do it I feel they will be enjoyed. There is one block that looks like the horses are standing around a campfire. Another block has their heads. The blocks are just awesome. Love your work in progress, the quilt is going to be amazing. |
I just love your idea of putting the pieces on paper plates. It looks like a great way to store them and stay organized while sewing. Thanks.
