I have a basket of crumb blocks that I work on when I just want to sew and don't know what I feel like sewing.
Today, I was playing around with them and used a crumb block for the center of my star. Here's what I got:

Crumby Stars - the colors are really not this bright

What a great way to use up all those triangles from piecing bindings or corner cutoffs! You could even make them wonky like the "liberated" stars. J, I might just steal this idea! G

Terrific idea! Would have never thought to do this. Great job.

I really like it. It kinda reminded me of what Forest Gump's Mom said about life. I believe that when we work with scraps it is like a "box of chocolates, we never know what we are going to get." :) I think I will try to have some fun with my scraps, too.
