What a wonderful idea of using big skirts for fabric. I haunt Goodwill for fabric too, and it never occurred to me to look at the clothing. I can't wait to see how your finished quilt comes out. Have fun!

This pic is appealing to me and right up my alley! What fun that will be diving into that batch of squares and creating something extraordinary! Have fun with it! Oh, be sure and post pics when you're done! We'd love to see it! |
Looks like an Irish Chain coming to me!

I love scrappies and look forward to seeing yours,

This is truly a scrap quilt the way your are collecting and reusing fabrics. That is fabulous. I love to make scrap quilts. I will save scraps that others would throw away. I have been known to pull fabric out of the trash. I call these quilts my "trash quilts", but to me they are a treasure. I, however, use all my quilts and enjoy them. The only time I would have a tough time using them is if they were all hand appliqued/quilted, then I would have to use them a little more sparingly.

Looking forward to seeing what you will create with those!

Love scrappy. You have a nice collection. here is one I just finished, made from all recycled fabric. Plain and simple:thumbup: Nothing fancy

I have done the same thing with scraps, 2 1/2" squares. I Have probably 20 random rows together. It is like a trip down memory land whenever I work on it. Someday... I thought this would use up my scraps. As I look at it not it could be rather long. maybe a football field if I use all my scraps. lol

Looks like SOOOO much fun!! Can't wait to see finished product... and thanks for the "mixing-it-up" tip, too!!
|
Scrappys are my favorite
|
I love scrappy quilts!!! Do you know what you're going to do with them? I have a basket under a table that I throw scraps into and every once in awhile I stack them in the Accucut and make squares out of them.
|
love scrappy cant wait to see what you do have fun
|
I've also been haunting Goodwills lately. Last week I picked up five "big" skirts and after washing, pressing and cutting into pieces (no squares yet!), wound up with about Six yards of fabric for $5.00! I love the tiered, batik skirts made in the Far East -- three or four coordinating fabrics, at least a quarter yard each. Awesome!

What an awesome idea regarding the cooler. Now I know what to do with the one I have. Can't wait to see what your scrappy quilt will look like. Bet it will be awesome. Thanks for the tip.
